Re: Too hight heart rate?

Is my heart rate too high? What is your resting heart rate? You can use it with the following formula: (208-age-resting HR)x70%+resting HR = working heart rate Using resting heart rate in the formula means you're working out your Heart Rate Reserve. You may have to google that term, I'm too knacker...

 Just part of the fun for me.

Diana (I much prefer my name over dog or any reference like that)
So judging by the repsonses so far, the answer to my original question is: one!

Hello Diana.

Re: How many women on this forum?

I'm clearly a man Well, the video wasn't quite THAT clear. thankfully. Already stirred up enough I meant to add to the original reply (OR?) that, while I have not taken even an intermediate anatomy course, I suspect we blokes share at least the majority of the major muscle with our senoritas. I kno...

Oh... I'm sensing tumbleweed. Never mind, I'll have to be inspired by you blokes instead.

How many women on this forum?

Basically, just that... how many women are there around here? I'd love to hear about routines, weights, PBs... anything to inspire me, anything to aspire to...

Re: New and have a question

Cheers Robertscott. I checked them out, but it's only the leather ones that seem to go down small enough. I'll keep them in mind. Would leather belts be as comfortable? (I doubt it, they all look like rough leather of 1970s Clarks shoes!)

Re: New and have a question

Well, that went badly :frown: I didn't go for the one Ironman recommended in his link, because I'm in the UK, but found a similar one on Amazon. It arrived today. I tried it... too big. Although the size is 27"-33" waist, and I have a 28.5" waist, there was at least 5" spare. Gutted. Can anyone reco...

Re: New and have a question

Bought and waiting for delivery. Can't wait to give it a go. In fact I'm getting quite excited about trying out a proper squat and deadlift. I plan to start off at home - my weights go up to 60kg - then move to gym when the weight I lift corresponds with the use of a belt. Watch out for lots of ques...

You'll get laughed out of here for caring what they think of you at the gym.

Probably just me not understanding women again.

Re: New and have a question

Yep, that's exactly what I was referring to in my post above. It does sound like your TVA is in good shape. I think it could be that you didn't give the ab training enough of a rest after birth. Many women want to really hit the ab exercises after that, but if you notice, doctors will typically adv...

Re: New and have a question

Thank you so much Stuward - those links look great. I'll check them out in more detail later (too many words for this time of night). And now I also know what search terms to use myself.

Re: New and have a question

I've just been on the Tupler Technique web site and it says this: A diastasis recti is the separation of the outermost abdominal muscles. This causes a protruding belly and belly button. This isn't what my stomach looks like. My stomach is very flat. I get a protrusion when I'm laying down onto a be...

Re: New and have a question

Thanks Stuward. I've done my own research, or at least tried to, but never come up with anything for improving the condition, just an awful lot on preventing it straight after the birth. I'd be grateful if you could tell me more, when it's more convenient.

Re: New and have a question

Hi everyone, thanks for all the replies. Oscar_Actuary - yep! stuward - yes, I know all that, which is why I currently feel I'm at a dead end. I do try to do alternatives, like lunges because they keep my torso upright so I don't get the problem. And the walking lunges I did today certainly g...
