Re: Is Direct Ab work nessessary?
Extra ab work can't hurt. I think it all depends on your priorities.

Re: B-Complex (Neurobion)
Thanks for the link, Stuward. Based on this chart I don't think I have any deficiency symptoms.

Re: Breathing in during abdominal exercises
I think a layer of fat over the abdomen is what keeps ab muscles from popping. To master a six-pack, I'd focus on diet instead.

Re: Stress and exercise?
I'm so sorry to hear of your situation. I understand how that feels and depression can make you completely weak and depleted. I recommend doing lighter exercises. I'm not sure if your into this sort of thing, but have you tried yoga? It can be soothing and reduce stress and anxiety. Good luck.

Re: Eating more carbs at dinner...
I feel like no matter when I eat carbs, it always makes me feel bloated the next day. Maybe my body just isn't used to them? I try to only eat carbs a few times a week because of that.

Re: Vitamin before bed
I should try taking a vitamin before bed on a regular basis. I know it works wonders when I'm drunk, so certainly it would help if I'm sober, right?

Re: supplementing magnesium
I'm obsessed with magnesium. Without it, I can't sleep or poop. Magnesium single handedly cures both my insomnia and my constipation. It's a miracle supplement as for as I'm concerned. I take a scoop of the powdered version before I go to bed every night. It makes a huge difference.

Re: Thomas Test
I had acute trauma in my hip flexor from running. Happened about 4 or 5 years ago. I used go for these tough runs without stretching and it caused some painful damage. That's why I now make a point to stretch before and after every workout.

Re: B-Complex (Neurobion)
I've often read that a vitamin B deficiency is a cause of disease. I'm not sure what other elements must align in order for disease to take root, but I think it's possible for vitamin deficiencies to be a cause. I'd like to go to the doctor and get tested to see if I have deficiencies. Are there cli...

Re: Healthy breakfast without increasing sugar levels
Hmmmm. I pretty much eat the same things everyday. Egg whites, chicken, broccoli, the like. I never thought my repetition could create an allergy. Maybe I should add more variety into the rotation...

Re: Choosing a Heart Rate Monitor
Jawbone makes a really cool monitor that tracks all of your activity, even while you're sleeping. It looks like a bracelet that you wear on your wrist. All the data downloads to your iPhone. I like it. It makes me conscious of my activity and therefore makes me move more. I just wish it wasn't only ...

Re: The reasons why you should do a cool down
I totally get that woozy sensation, too. It's like all the blood rushes to my muscles and there isn't enough left to flow through my brain. It's a weird feeling, isn't it? I actually went to the doctor for that a few years ago, worried there was something wrong. Apparently, there was nothing wrong w...

Re: Thomas Test
I wish I knew of this test/stretch before. I've been having issues with my left hip flexer and I think a large part of the trouble is because I got into a bad habit of never stretching before/after my workouts. I think all stretching is essentially a test. With each stretch you can learn so much abo...
