Re: Workout Log Apps
I have always used gymrat to log workouts, I like how you can set it to automatically time rest periods and things like that.

Re: Chinup Challenge, 2013
Well, re-read the first post of the thread. Maybe I didn't make it as clear as I though I did. Final test by 28 Feb. Locking a couple of days later. Sounds like just the month. You are welcome to continue working on your chins throughout the year, and you are certainly welcome to report the results...

Re: Chinup Challenge, 2013
BTW, is this challenge just for this month or will it run throughout the year? I know the thread will be locked next month but just checking.

Re: Personal Best Log
My first time doing weighted chinups and dips
chinups:
4 reps BW + 13%
2 reps BW + 20%
Dips:
10 reps BW+13%
10 reps BW+20%
Not great but a hell of a lot better then I thought it would be and still a personal best

Re: Checkup Scare!
I would add that a hernia that extends into your scrotum is in fact more serious then one that doesnt bulge into it, so be careful. Also any serious, unexpected sustained constipation and that sort of thing, go to the doctor.

Re: Chinup Challenge, 2013
8 chinups. goal: 15+ bodyweight chinups and 8 reps with +10kg Thanks! Could you make the goal something simple? Do you really think you can double your bw chins in a month? If so, more power to you, but for most of us, it's all we can do to eke out the 10% increase. Good point, is was hitting close...

Re: Isolated versus compound exercises
Thanks for helping!
Ok, but you wouldnt choose anseveral isolation exercises over a compound one for reasons other than wanting a particular emphasis?

Re: Isolated versus compound exercises
Sorry I will refine my question, is there any reason to do an isolation exercise for 2 muscles rather than a compound exercise that works boths. The problem is that most things I have found boil down to an argument focusing on the increased generation of hormones with compound exercises, not how it ...

Isolated versus compound exercises
So, as the title says, isolated versus compound exercises. My workout has become too long and I need to shorten it down without limiting how much I actually work the muscles. So I was wondering if doing 1 compound instead of several isolation exercises mightn't be the way forward - however I just do...

Re: single arm chest exercise
Could you just do one-armed bench presses on a smith machine? there wont be a balance problem as its a smith machine and you cant just try out the strength of each arm
