Re: How many Fat grams in macros?

Thanks. About the number of calories per day, I'm taking daily about 2,500 calories. Is it ok? If not, what number should I target? That sounds about right. There are all kinds of calculators online but an easy rule of thumb is 20 calories per pound of body weight for weight gain. This would be a n...

Re: How many Fat grams in macros?

There is no "standard" for fat intake. Choose the ratio that works for you. Get the right amount of protein and total calories and adjust fat and carbs for effect. Thanks. In the macro calculator website I posted there are 4 different ratios categories. You are saying that it won't matter which one...

Re: Out of this world oatmeal!

It looks like those nutrients are based on 100g. It doesn't make sense why they would do it that way but that's the only way they fit. Oatmeal is oatmeal. Ohh, I see. It makes sense. Some companies do put the nutritional information based on 100 grams. Its like a standard I guess. Recently I was re...

Out of this world oatmeal!

Hi, I recently have been searching different kinds of oatmeal and the calorie value of each one of them. There's one brand that I always have at home, but analyzing it I have seen that it has way to many calories. Pics: http://i58.tinypic.com/2uz4j1w.jpg http://i59.tinypic.com/2s12n1e.jpg I know the...

No, the little amount of sugar in fruit is outweighed by the good stuff. In all likelihood, this is the least of most people's problems.
Thanks

Re: Get rid of belly

I still use refined sugar for coffee and other things. I understand refined sugar increases fat on the body. So, how can I replace refined sugar? You don't replace sugar, you reduce it and start appreciating the taste of unsweetened real food, like dark chocolate and black coffee. I found that it h...

Re: Get rid of belly

If possible, snack on some protein and fat sources. Nuts, like Stu said. My favorite are Walnuts. But then there's dairy products as an example. I use quark usually as a snack if I'm hungry. But any protein should do well too. Higher protein meals and snacks lower your ghrelin (hunger hormone if we...

Re: Get rid of belly

some folks say white rice should not be thrown into the same bin as those other items. It's a non-gluten grain. Some say it's a wash which is better/worse brown or white rice. I'd say most agree if you eat it and it works with you, eat it mindfully - timing is important. PUt butter on it, not that ...
