Re: Cut or bulk?
I've just been feeling "bloated" alot recently, like I'm either carrying alot of water weight or I've just put on too much fat. My muscle definition is not that great relaxed, but when I flex everything is much more defined. As seen in the pictures, i have a faint outline of abs relaxed, and full si...

Cut or bulk?
Been bulking for a while, noticed that my waist seemed to get bigger. Not sure if bloat or if I'm putting on too much fat. Here are pics unflexed vs flex. Should I start cutting or keep bulking? Re: Upper/Lower Split for Strength and Size
I was simply tired from doing 2 work sets before my max effort deadlift. I'm not used to repping out deadlifts for 3x5. I'm going to run this program I created for about 3 months and see what happens: Lower: Squat: ramp up to 3-5 rm and do 3 back off sets Deadlift: 8x1 at 80-85% Optional: Abs: 3-5 s...

Upper/Lower Split for Strength and Size
I just finished up my first week of 5/3/1. I like it, but I'm not a fan of the warming up method. For me doing 2 work sets across before my max sets seems to fatigue me unnecessarily and put me in a sub-optimal position for the max set. Particulariy for deadlifts, my lower back was pretty fried afte...

Squat Form Check
Recently I became aware that I may have been squatting deeper than my flexibility allowed, which resulted in "buttwinking" or a slight rounding of the lower back in the bottom position. Because of this, I have been attempting to squat just bellow parallel rather than "a.$s to the grass." This is a v...

Jclem23 Body Bulk Blast
At the risk of committing blasphemy, I have heavily modified the original "NYGMEN Body Bulk Blast" to better suit my needs. Here is the revised program that I am calling the "Jclem23 Body Bulk Blast" Original "NYGMEN Body Bulk Blast" Day 1 *Front squats - ramp up to a 5 rep max 1 or 2 work sets *DB ...

Re: Captains of Crush grippers
Thanks for the responses. I have been doing partial reps with the trainer and have already seen improvements in my grip strength. I am very close to closing it.

Captains of Crush grippers
I got three captains of crush grippers for christmas today: the trainer, the number 1, and the number 2. However, I couldn't even close the trainer all the way. I could get the grippers to be parallel, but i couldn't get them to touch. I always knew that my grip was really weak, but I didn't realize...

Re: Dumbbell row stance
I tried that yesterday and I liked it quite a bit. I feel like it's easier to lift more weight that way. Thanks for the response.Matt Z wrote: you could try something similar to the third version leaning on a bench instead of the dumbbell rack.

Dumbbell row stance
What is the best way to do DB Rows? With one knee on a bench like in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oKEQJ5j2a8E" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Or more like how matt kroc does it (I would be doing regular db rows with strict form, but my stance would be similar) http://www...

Re: Feedback on full-body workouts
In that case, I have no standard to check my weight against. Body-fat Percentage is a better standard for determining your overall health, as it takes into account the ratio between lean muscle mass and body fat. Again, it's still not optimal, as it doesn't take into account other factors, but it's...

Any reputable strength coach will tell you that BMI is meaningless. It's a broken scale based off of simple, basic data.Dirk101 wrote: Lastly, I have a BMI of 19.3, which as far as I know is within a healthy range.
