Sympathy Recomp 2013
Tuco, can you confirm if you had a pot belly before, and has it changed? Have you noticed any other changes? Forgot to mention the "other changes". Dramatically increased focus and mental clarity (this one is greatly increased lately), sustainable workout intensity and energy and a boost to overall...

Re: Sympathy Recomp 2013
Not trying to piss on your bonfire, just making you aware of how much those bodyfat calculation suck. If he dropped his waist from 45 to 35" or so, it would look like an improvement of that magnitude. It would have also had to be accompanied by 15 lbs of muscle gain over 6 months. Not impossible bu...

Re: Sympathy Recomp 2013
Progress report...thought I would punch in and just bring up that what I am doing is working pretty well. I am at 236, ~18% bodyfat, from 238 ~25% a half year ago (via waist/hip calculations, I'm not using calipers or DEXA or whatever). My resting heart rate is almost exactly 60bpm and my blood pres...

Re: Sympathy Recomp 2013
I'm in.
I've dropped 18 pounds in four weeks - via low carb, so prob 5-10 of that is water. From 238 to 220 on the nose.

Re: The Turkish-Get-Up Only Workout
That's very close to Dan John, as Robert said. I think he uses KB Swings with those get-ups as well. That's one bloody crazy goal to reach. Is there a reason for this weirdness? You can get better on TGU's even if you do other stuff as well. Is there a reason for such limited workouts? It will work...

The Turkish-Get-Up Only Workout
Hi folks. Now that I've got my diet in lock-step, I have been thinking about setting a performance goal for myself for the end of the year of doing 200 consecutive back-to-back TGU's with a 16kg KB (that's 100/side). Here was what I was planning on doing for a program. Looking for advice(s). I was f...

I want to urge a stock of excellent stuff before I begin. thus these days at lunch i'm reaching to create an inventory of the items i believe would be smart to urge (lean cookery...

Weight Loss Escapade
Seriously hurt my back a few months before XMAS, picked up homebrewing as a hobby, got a new job that ends up making my day 15 hours of sitting down staring at a PC screen, and bloated right up to 240lbs @ 28% give or take a few after a few holiday-filled months of no exercise. BP is now off the cha...

Re: Chinup Challenge, 2013
I'll admit it - I am currently good for exactly "0" dead hang medium grip chins.
I want to hit a 20 rep set by the end of the year.

Homemade Easy-Peasy Gulyas Chunks of meat product (beef/lamb/pork, as desired - I use mostly venison burger, and spicy sausage is nice addition too). thyme One large onion, sliced thin Four tablespoons beef talloow/butter OR 3 tablespoons extra virgin coconut oil OR 4 tablespoons olive oil Salt (to ...

Re: do you use gloves or grips?
Are you using hook grip for heavy deadlifts or something? In the years I have been lifting I have never messed up my thumbs lifting anything, even when a noob. I've had calluses on my palms and fingers, and ripped them off doing certain lifts (kettlebell work or oly variants), but never chewed up my...
