Hi guys, how much do you really know about movement?
I haven't been here in a while. I joined this forum a few years ago looking for ideas and feedback on my exercise training to improve my spinal cord injury. Here's a recent video of what I'm still working on and fighting through: https://youtu.be/5Bd0k9YoANw" onclick="window.open(this.href);return f...

http://youtu.be/JdFXHQGpX8U" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; This video is just a short recap of what I worked on in May. I think if figuring things out slowly but still don't have a grasp on my full potential that I know is there. Hoping this month I will be able to figure out and add...

10 minute muscle strengthening routines? help please
Life is so busy, you work all day and it's hard to feel like working out. And on days off things always distract us. Even when we have the time, focusing on every exercise and knowing you need to put in at least an hour can be overwhelming. But with spinal cord injury I need to and can be better tha...

Re: Can progress be made without consistancy?
Hey Jungledoc, yes the video was when I first started using the pulley system, I don't do that anymore:) Last week I was at a hotel and able to practice walking in the long hallways, so much nicer than having to turn around every few steps. I was just reading of an intense therapy program for people...

Re: Can progress be made without consistancy?
I appreciate the wisdom and the honesty guys. I agree jungledoc, I need to look at the big picture and not max out after one or two weeks. I need to find peace with those days that I rest, I feel like I might be missing an opportunity but I'm seeing that the rest is beneficial and needed. A friend s...

protein shakes?
A friend has started using whey (not sure) protein by body fortress and thinks it would benefit my workouts. Is there much difference in building strength using protein shakes than without? Since I'm already working out I'm hoping protein shakes will maximize my efforts? Appreciate all insight.

Can progress be made without consistancy?
I've been trying to exercise more recently to make the physical improvements that I know are possible. I have a spinal cord injury and have to use a power wheelchair. But the hardest part about it is what it would actually take on my part to make those improvements. It's not too difficult to go hard...

Re: what I worked on in January (video)
Thank you for the response dub. February didn't go how I planned but rarely does everything go how we plan right. I fight discouragement but it doesn't keep me back. I believe that I will figure it out eventually. Of course even then it won't be easy, but I think a little more steady. Thank you agai...

This past week I did the workout everyother day but more sets reps. Walking has been good, trying to walk half a mile in one week, very close, .46 of a mile. 3 days I walked 460 feet. Yesterday I bought a 5 lb kettlebell weight, I think it will be good. After my walk last night getting back into my ...

Re: Asking for help again
Thanks Ironman I appreciate the support. This week I worked out 5 consecutive days. The exercises Stuard listed I've been doing except for the lat pulldown, I have to wait until I get a weight pulley system. I am thankful for my progress and just the fact that I can exercise. I walk everyday after w...

Re: Asking for help again
The arm rows, how much do they work the back? If they do is it a key part of the back and are there any other back exercises that would be important to seeing noticeable progress? What simple back exercise or exercises would you say are a must?

Re: Asking for help again
Thank you Stuard, I will get to work on these. I think my torso needs to be worked as well so this is great! Any advice on sets / reps / how many days a week for these muscles?
