Re: So I screwed my back again...

Since I really just want to tone up a bit and lose weight, I'd be happy to be doing less weight and more reps. Given these goals, and the fact that you have herniated discs there's no reason to ever squat heavy again, in fact you don't need to squat period. Since you injured yourself doing a deadli...

Re: Beginner wanting to get big! Feedback respectfully reque

The important thing is to get started, which I hope you have already. You can adjust the weight accordingly based on your feeling. Yes there are diminishing returns for extra volume in terms of gains, but you will always burn more calories.

Re: Squat Form Check

Looks ok apart from that, but if you stop doing that can you maintain good form in the rest of the movement? The problem is that you've patterned a bad movement and now you have to unlearn it. Make a new video without the bend at the start

Where did you get that routine from?
IMO that routine is light on weight and light on volume, so I don't know why it takes 45 minutes unless your rest periods are long. If you want to lose weight you should probably work on reducing rest times and keeping your heart rate high.

Re: Squat Form Check

Yeah the sticking your ass out thing? I dunno what that's all about, bro, better just quit it right away. I can't concentrate on anything else while watching this, it's weird. Your depth seems to be exactly or very nearly parallel from that angle.

Re: Back squat vs Front squat 85% ratio

I believe the more experienced and well-rounded you are the close those ratios are to reality. If you've never front squatted before you'll have a hard time squatting 85% of your backsquat, obviously.

Re: Training Deadlift and Overhead Press only

Yes, and so much more. You could train olympic lifts, clean variations, front squats, rows, hack squats, overhead squats, curls etc. All with just a barbell.

Re: Training Deadlift and Overhead Press only

The common wisdom is that squat helps deadlift but deadlift does not help squat. Overhead pressing may help bench press, but in your topic title it says "Training Deadlift and Overhead Press only", if OHP is a means to develop a better bench, then why would you only be doing those 2 lifts and not do...
