Re: FitNotes for Android
AFAIK you can append a current or new exercise to the group of you choice so you can more easy navigate to it when you want to log something...

Re: FitNotes for Android
Does anyone else here use FitNotes or maybe advocates something different?
Do you still use paper logs?
I know a lot of people who don't record anything; Can't understand that for the life of me...

thanks,
Stephen, it's going great! I may make some adjustments soon, my biggest concerns being that I am at a place where I don't have enough left in the tank to work out my triceps and biceps. Seems like if I do an extra set on curls or tricep extensions on the lighter day B that I can actually have more p...

Stu, Well... the thing is I haven't plateaued yet! I totally agree with you, heavier weights DO lead to better form, I know that for a fact. What I MEANT to say is that if I struggle to grunt out, say that last rep with 275 pounds on bench press, or 290 on stiff leg deadlifts I'm liable to hurt my b...

DeadFrog's Workout Routine
Hey guys, I said I would post my current routine, including the current weights I am at, for your valuable input, as per discussion in the last thread, "Recovery Time." The most important thing about me is that I had the rod surgery and spinal fusion for my (double curve) scoliosis. That means most ...

Your sets/reps are general 3 x 8-10. Strength is more easily built in the low (3-5 rep) range. I used to do 10-rep sets for some of my exercises. Once I switched to 5-rep sets based on advice from folks here, I experienced much more rapid strength gains. I think you guys misunderstood my routine. I...

Damien, I think there are too many sets in general. As you'll see here on exrx.net, one or two workout sets is all you need. I also feel that DB presses+bench+flys is overkill. Pick just one or two, or mix them up between routines. On the second day, you have too many quad exercises, mixing in squat...

I was literally just getting ready to post the same topic. Over the years, my workouts have become more intense as I saturate the I (for intensity) in the I X V X P (intensity*volume*periodization) equation for many reasons. I wanted to reduce time spent at the gym and visits per week. I now do some...
Tibia
It just occured to me I used to do an exercise not listed on the map. When I played football it was important to strengthen the tibia so I could backpedal fast. While seated with one leg extended halfway, I lifted a DB on my foot (across top of the toes) using a folded towel for cushioning. The rang...

After using DB and BB for years (for this) I found using a cable for wrist and reverse wrist curls to be absolutely fantastic. You can have a natural range of motion and resistance throughout. For the reverse wrist curls I am down on one knee with the cable going under my leg of the opposite hand wh...
