Re: Disturbance while squatting in power rack

Ask them sternly, but politely, to wait until you are through squatting. If they don't comply, dump the weight behind you. Look down at their broken carcass and tell them, "That's why you wait."

Re: Back squat vs Front squat 85% ratio

Right for whom? All that stuff is subjective. What is your body type, what are you training for, what are you physical limitations, etc.? I really like CT, but there is no reference other than he says for athletes. I can tell you that bodybuilders don't give two skunk farts about ratios - they want ...

Re: Squat Form Check

Ben, If you don't stop that, you are going to severely limit your growth (at best) or get hurt (at worst). Grab you a box and box squat. Look at your shin angle before you get up. If your knees are too far forward then sit farther back.

Re: That question about lower back initiating deadlift

I don't attempt to coach deadlift. I don't attempt to believe I know what in the hell i'm talking about on deadlift. I hate doing it and the more I train, the worse it gets. Consequently I end up only deadlifting at meets. I know I should work on it, but I don't know what in the hell to do. I got pe...

Re: Friend with trashed knees

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I would not recommend any squat. From what you are describing, it sound like the cartilage is gone. This means the knee joint is bone on bone. If you place a load on the back and then squat, you are going to be doing more damage. I think, in this case, the more y...

Re: Knee above parallel - pain

My grandfather was a doctor. He would tell you to stop raising your knee to parallel and above. What's the point?

Scottish separation

What does this mean for the real people of Scotland KP? What does it mean for the UK if I loses 5.5 million citizens and 235 billion GDP?

Re: [Introduction] New to the forum, not to the site.

Look for other ways to compete. You may need to heal up some, but you can still find avenues. Powerlifting, oly lifting, highland games, crossfit (I can't believe I'm saying this), triathalons, etc.

Re: Reality Check

Mother k-word - those are some good lifts. This is my experience with programs like these. Yes they work, however I believe that as you get closer to your genetic potential, the numbers get unrealistic. If you are a newb or a somewhat experienced lifter, you can have those gains. I'm guessing at the...
