Re: vegan vs. vegetarian vs. omnivore

[that's right, but it's very difficult to get much protein with plant based food without supplements. Not true. Not true at all. Actually, when you factor in tofu and tempeh - it is much easier to get protein than on a 'regular' omnivore diet. I don't use supplements and never had. There is no "rea...

well no wonder
I'd lose 70 lbs this year if I didn't love food
Meant to say "I actually find "cooking" to be a nuisance...."
I LOVE to eat, too.

Re: vegan vs. vegetarian vs. omnivore

thanks for telling your experiences and nice to hear the vegan diet helped you. now the question of all questions: do you eat soy? I do eat soy and soy products. Sparingly, though. I'd say 85% of my diet is fresh foods, now. But i do use tofu, bean curd and tempeh. Veggie burgers/meatballs, ...

Re: vegan vs. vegetarian vs. omnivore

Good to see you back Hoister and I'm glad to see your health has improved. I'm just curious if you've made any changes with regard to grains, sugar, vegetable oils, processed, junk or fast foods? I stick to whole grains and they are a staple in my diet. No sugars other than what occurs naturally in...

Re: vegan vs. vegetarian vs. omnivore

Hey all. Been awhile since i posted here, so thought i would check in and was pleasantly suprised to find this post - since i have just finished up a year on a strict vegan diet. As some of you know, i had a heart attack about 4 years ago at the ripe old age of 36 - which lead to a lot of tests that...

Re: TimD

I was thinking today that it has been a shame that i haven't been able to lurk or post here in awhile. Now hearing this about TimD makes really regret not checking in sooner. Tim was very wise and had a lot of really good advice for many people. I have to admit that I am really upset at this news. R...

Okay - re-tested my PR and upped it to 30 dead hang consecutive reps, and 1 more that i had to cheat with some "kip". Then i heard a rather horrible sound in my right shoulder which was followed by some blinding pain. Uh oh...

My best = 25 reps / 50lb vest / parallel grip / current bwt 185'ish lbs.

I am going to try to add at least 2 reps. I should go for 3, but i think i am at my genetically pre-dispositioned best. ;)

same routine as above, but:

Bumped the weight up to 345 for the squats.

Edit - power snatches from the hang are done for 50 reps, not 80!

new weight for my supersquats routine = 345lbs x 20reps. Went for a 21st rep, but failed (thank God i have the squat rack!) and nearly pooped myself.
