Deadlift and back imbalance questions

thanks for your responses! On another note, your warmup is fine, don't kell yourself on the progression upwards, but no reason to dawdle either, s they aren't close to work sets, and second, think and decide for yourself, don't let your "friends" dictate anything. If you're comfortable with the warm...

Oh, I'm not trying to bulk up in any way. I'm 24, 5'10 and nearly 190lbs @ 26% bodyfat. My chest is noticeably bigger, and I have doubled my squat load after just a month. I think I have lost around 2% bodyfat, but gained a few pounds. I'm not sure how good or bad my results are, but I'd really like...

simple pre-post workout meal questions

what kind of foods are good for pre and post workout meals? a few searches got me some shakes and supplements, but i have no plans in taking them. I basically want to know when would be a better time to eat the ham sandwich or chicken fillet, or whatever NORMAL food I can find. Also, it would be gre...

Saw that link somewhere around here too so I can't take credit for that. The clean looks dangerous! I think I'll stick with the rows for now. The gym owner's wife benches more than I do so I'll build up my strength first before I try that. Oh by the way, I'm having a bit of trouble with the whole "y...

I don't know how to do a clean so I'm doing bent over rows for now. As for squats, I have been adding 5kg every time. I think im squatting as deep as when i don't use ...

Well, my back doesn't hurt after squatting anymore so I think I'm doing them right. The gym trainer checked my form too.. Actually, even if I don't use ANY weight at all, I can't go really deep... balance problems? gigantic belly? huge fat thights? dunno :))

I can't do full squats

I get stuck when my thighs are just parallel to the floor. I've read somewhere that partial squats are bad for the back or knees I don't really remember. I am not sure if my 38 inch waist has anything to do with it :D.

What do you guys suggest? Should I continue? Will it improve?

our gym has a weighing scale where you step on it barefoot, and it calculates your body fat %, muscle weight, etc..etc..

I don't know how they work exactly, but they should be pretty accurate right? If not, then at least the change in % should be.

Thanks for the info! I tried squats about two days ago, my body is still aching. We don't have barbells in our gym, just a smith machine. Is this perfectly all right? Or should I go with dumbells instead? (Whats the difference anyway?) The .gif picture on this site is a bit small, and its hard to fi...

Thanks for your responses! Quick question though, what would be the difference between increasing reps and increasing the number of sets? If you do it slower, you would be able to do less reps obviously, but whats the difference in terms of results? I feel that my thighs are huge (they touch when im...
