You might start by looking elsewhere from the weights. That is, start looking at your diet. I can imagine your physique at 5'11 183, and one of the first things you should do is simply eat more, more often. I know you want to stay lean, but here is a simple idea. Bodyweight equates to strength. So e...

Thanks to both of you...When/if I do get down to Texas, Hoose, I will take you up on that offer, I'm assuming that since you have been on this site for years, (as I remember you from when I first came on for an assignment in my HPE class), you will be here a year from now, also....this is how I will...

Hoosegow- Assuming I get accepted (I should with a 3.87 GPA...was 4.0 but my Second Semester Spanish Professor gave me a B last term with an 89.93% in his class) I'm looking at goint to UT Austin. I'm also, however looking at Stanford. Aside from being great schools, both of them, I like their Joint...

Yes, sir, and thank you. But as I've mentioned earlier....right now I am alsocurrently incarcerated, so the only gym I will be training at, at least for the rest of this year, will be here. I actually get out pretty soon, and I am planning on attending graduate school in Texas, so I may have to hold...

Great, thanks! I actually have a picture of me doing 705 on my computer (I was using it to make sure that I was hitting 90 degrees, as it was hard to tell with no mirrors in my weight room) and I wish I could post it, but I don't know how. I'll try looking up those articles, and I was actually readi...

Just wanted to add....I wish I had a more concrete method for choosing the beginning weight for you, but if it helps, I meant that I started 245, not 225..... my max was 425, now 445....so start appx. 55-60% of your 1RM max for the first set of 12, and then bump ten lbs after that for each set. That...

Jungledoc Posted: Halfbreed: How did you decide your loading when you were starting this? I've been lifting for a while, and I didn't use any formula like 70% of my 1RM or anything, I just knew that I could do 225 for sets of around 20, that moving up like this would be killer, and so I should star...

Plateau on squats.

Ok. So here's the deal. I moved up extremely rapidly this past nine months in my squat strength, and am currently sitting (no pun intended) on a one-rep, 725 squat. However, I am stuck here. I considered just working out a little lighter, maybe 635, and repping it out for sets of ten, trying to push...

Yes, sir. Make sure you have a spotter though, because weight that you are going to need to force you would have normally been able to do. THe first few sets you're thinking, "this ain't so bad," but by the time you get to your second set of 8, it's more like " $h*t! THIS GOT HEAVY!" Keep me up...

Great Results w/ Flat Bench Press Routine

Ok, so I knew this old man who claimed to have started the first high-school aged competitive weight lifting team in the state of California. He is an awesome old guy, and one person that I will remember forever. He told me before I left the facility I was in to try this routine to get my strength u...

performance of supplements w/milk v. water

Ok, so I have some odd reports here. I have been taking nitrotech/cell tech now with good results for better than a month. However, I thought, why choke down this drink, when I could blend it with milk, bannana, peanut butter, and ice? So I started doing it, and it tasted like a butter finger blizza...
