I did some ab rollers when I was doing my cut-down routine, and within two months had an eight-pack. The best definition work on my abs i've ever done. In terms of obliques I got nothing from them, but for the main "pack," it was great. Now I'm back to gaining weight and lifting heavy and the abs ar...

Ok, so I checked out the six star whey, and it was exactly the same thing as the nitrotech, in terms of what it has in it....all the aminos, the whey, and the creatine. I am thinking about getting a GNC gold card, to save money, but I only see the six star in a 2lb container, which is super small......

The reason I was looking at Nitrotech is because it's one of the only whey proteins I can find that has creatine added. I haven't yet checked out Ironman's suggestion, but I intend on doing so right now. I looked at the ON Gold standard, and that's been recommended to me before. Also, the fact that ...

Thanks, I was actually looking at some nitrotech hardcore yesterday that has all of the amino acids, whey, and creatine. I know they advertise really hard in M&F which actually makes me a little more skeptical, but all the reviews that I have read online say good things. Any experience with it? Also...

It's kind of looking like they don't want me using pure creatine....in truth, I am stronger than all of the guards here, which kind of makes them respect me more, but being I am such a great guy and all, they help me out with this stuff. They are suggesting whey with creatine simply because i...

I did this same experiment for a science lab one time. I came out with like 3.5 horsepower.

Thanks, yeah, I'm pretty excited about school. I think I just got hustled by some program called the National Honors Society Consortium for $65. Oh well though, as long as they don't try to keep charging my card, I'm good. Chalk it to the game. So I just talked to my Treatment manager, and they look...

Thermogenics, creatine and whey, oh my!

Hey, For those of you who remember me, it's been a long time! Ironman, I'm still locked up, but this month I'm down to 11 months and days....Still lifting every day though. I moved to a transitional facilty, and now have access to free weights. I've been here for about 6 months now, and I am squatti...

Mountain Climbin' Momma

I posted this under diet and nutrition as well. But figured more people would see it here. Interesting Question. My mom, at 48 years old, is planning on climbing Mt. McKinley in Alaska this June. She wanted my advice as to what she should be eating prior to the climb and during the climb to keep her...

Mountain Climbing Diet

Interesting Question. My mom, at 48 years old, is planning on climbing Mt. McKinley in Alaska this June. She wanted my advice as to what she should be eating prior to the climb and during the climb to keep her energy levels and strength high throughout. This is a 2 week climb in ice and weather, car...

supplements/free weights

Now, I've got a buddy who was here for about 6 years, and I was with him here for about 5 of those 6. He's always been into lifting, but was kind of in and out, not very consistent about lifting. He was knowledgeable, learned quite a bit, but was never very big. He was pretty strong, had wide lats a...

I agree that isolation exercises are a good supplement to your compound exercises. "Getting the most bang for your buck" just depends on what your goals are. If you're looking for asthetics, you're going to want to hit the isolation exercises. If you want raw power, compound exercises are the way to...

Personally, I think that one should pull his or her shoulders together when benching, but not exaggerated. That is, just keep your shoulders back and against the bench and your chest out. Don't let the shoulders come up, it actually destabalizes your rotator cuff and can lead to injury, since the be...

It's funny you guys bring this up because I just started playing the guitar a couple months ago. I picked it up really quick, and I like it. I actually just bought my first personal guitar and got it on Sunday. It's an Art&Lutherie Burgandy GT dreadnaught accoustic. I've learned quite a bit of music...

Tim- I tried going to crossfit.com but it's blocked. I'm not even sure why I can go to this site, but I can. I got the address from a health class I was taking online, they wanted us to use your tests, and I started browsing and found a lot of good stuff here. They don't know that I'm registered or ...
