I really dig bodyweight exercises, but as with Ironman, I feel better combining them with weight training. I've seen guys get pretty yolked up just off of bodyweight exercises, but as you say, the plateau is easy to hit. You can get pretty creative with your bodyweight, using boxes to change elevati...

Kenny- There is a difference in each method of getting bodyfat. Even if the method isn't accurate, if he took the measurements at the same sites in the same way, at the same time of day, it would still be a good way to measure his improvements, which was the purpose of getting them anyway. As far as...

With regard to the calipers, it isn't as complicated as needing to go to a university or something. You can buy a plastic set pretty easily and cheaply, and it comes with an illustrated instruction manual. You really only need to take from four or so sites, behind the arm, the lower stomach, next to...

I definately agree with Ironman that you should lift heavy, and I'm not by any means 100% knowledgeable about exercise physiology, specifically regarding the difference in insulin regulation between overweight folks and the active individual, but I would expand on Ironman's comment by telling you no...

Ironman- I got the messages, thanks. I'm going to read all of this over, and see how well I can apply it here. I knocked down the time on my cardio after talking to you last time, and I still got good results, better, actually, than I had hoped because I actually gained some strength and size while ...

I'd heard a little reading through some of the other posts about T-nation and the program you talked about, but, no, I don't have access to anything other than some college websites, and for some reason I got lucky and this site is able to come up. I'd like to know more about the program, it sound i...

I appreciate the feedback, and I guess my ignorance on the subject of supplements probably shows through, which is why I had to ask...I didn't want to feed my guys a bunch of b.s. If you have had better experiences with something else, I'd be interested to hear the effects, and the science behind it.

My intentions in the beggining were to cycle for leaning out and then to go for size the next session. I know that generally I should lift heavier for size/strength gains and eat quite a bit, but I'm not sure if 6 months on the same general lifting schedule is too long....that is, if it will cause a...

Nitrous
Some of the guys around here were looking into a supplement called "nitrous." They wanted me to ask if it is at all possible that you all could give me the rundown on it. What are the positive/negative effects, cost, effectiveness, etc. Please keep in mind that I can't check any websites, there is a...

Switching Up
I've been doing cardio for the last month or two before lifting as part of a leaning out cycle, and next month I will be done with this. I have been doing 30-60 minutes a day, five days a week of cardio, and lifting 7 days a week fairly heavy to maintain strength. Next month I considering going off ...

Vok- You can mix up pushups quite a bit. Try moving from side to side instead of just jumping with claps in the same position. You can also change heights, and then jump form side side onto a box or something that you find that will act as a small box...assuming that it's somewhat stable. The box sh...

Oh yeah, also, one more thing I read just two days ago with regard to weight loss through diet as opposed as through exercise was that fat loss through diet increases internal body fat, even though external bodyfat lowers. So you get increased fat surrounding your internal organs, including your hea...
