Their utility to society hasn't dried up if you stick them on a bicycle connected to a dynamo which then generates electricity. If they did that for a few hours a day they could then serve some purpose. Hey thats pretty clever! That's true. However, the most convincing argument against the death pe...

Alternate Grip: Which Hand?

Another thread made me think of this question, and I didn't want to hijack it. When you guys use an alternate grip, say, for the deadlift, which grip do you feel is most comfortable, i.e. which hand feels the most natural to supinate? It's not really very important, I was just curious because I've r...

I support the death penalty in some cases. For example, mass murders/serial killers/serial rapists don't deserve to live. They can't be rehabbed. How can we justify wasting resources on these people, whose utility to society has essentially dried up?

http://www.dragondoor.com/articler/mode3/229/ I've seen this site before, I think on these forums, that might help you. There's also a whole site inspired by the above link: http://www.gymnasticbodies.com/articles1.html I haven't read through it, but I'm guessing it's pretty useful, so you might wan...

"Leg curls (3 sets of 15-20): These work the back of your quads."

Hahaha thanks Peter. I love stuff like this. This one was an absolute classic.

Agree w/Tim. Expectations too high. Still voted for him though.

I found it on Strengthmill, under the Rippetoe Q&A section. I think Coach Rippetoe's response was something along the lines of "there is quite literally nothing correct about how he just did that lift."

Combining DE and ME lifts in one workout

I'm starting to develop an intermediate program based on the Texas Method. On Sunday, the low-volume/high intensity day, would it be alright to do one lift for dynamic effort and one lift for max effort? Or is it better to devote the entire workout session to one type of training. For example, I wan...

Well the way I learned to press was to have the elbows in front of the bar, with the bar resting on the delts (but still maintaining thoracic extension). My scapulae are still retracted somewhat, but not as far as they can go. Shrugging shoulders at the top during bench doesn't make sense to me. For...

Perhaps this is a different mode of though completely, but I don't think of press as "targeting" shoulders. I think of it as doing the press. So what I'm doing now is natural to what I perceive as a correct press. Same thing with bench. I'm not targeting my pecs when I bench, I'm simply benching. Sh...

What I'm perceiving as a "shrug" at the top is not a distinct movement from the press, i.e. it's done in one fluid motion. It's not as if I'm doing a shoulder press, and then an overhead shrug at the end. In fact, I could press how I normally do, and still be able to shrug my shoulders up more. So t...
