The plan is going well. I've followed the Irons' advise and reduced my program to a simplified range of exercises. I've also trimmed down my time in the gym (about an hour five times a week) and I'm feeling good. There have only been two problems: 1. I've moved from doing time-intensive ab circuits ...

Just for a quick update: I've managed to cut out most of the carbs in my diet, and have greatly increased the amount of protein. This has been coupled with a reduction both in total caloric intake and workout frequency. The results: November 19th: 185 lbs December 21st: 177.5 lbs I realize that this...

The main problem for me in doing that kind of diet is time. I know that it isn't very time consuming in relation to other things, but there is not a grocery store that close to campus, I don't have a car, and I really don't do much besides go to the gym and do work. I've been trying to grab some ext...

I've decided to follow your suggestions except for having 30' of cardio. Also, sorry but a couple more questions: Are you still recommending the rear delt rows in addition to the one armed dumbbell rows with shifting grips? Why only two sets of the Lat pull downs? (Just curious here) Also, as someon...

I do it with water all the time, it disgusting and nauseating at times but you got to get your protein. Where did you live around here? I live in wheatfield. Ha, I wouldn't blame you for not wanting to go to a school in this area...most poor city in the US right here. Real attitude booster... I'm f...

I guess I'll try to bring some fruit along with me to class and work on finding some kind of whey protein thing, but I can't mix them with milk, so that limits my ability to get something tasty.

Also, ironmaiden, interestingly enough I'm from Buffalo also (though I'm attending school elsewhere)

I'm 18 and a freshman in University.

I am about 6'2" and 184lbs.

Note: I can't really eat 5-6 meals a day with my meal plan.[/i]

Am I doing something wrong? (The Diet Thread)

I've recently shifted onto this diet (cut off some ancillary things) in the hopes of having a calorie deficit of about 500 calories per day. I workout for about an hour six times a week as it stands (though I will be cutting that down as it seems to be overtraining) What needs work with this? Note: ...

Thanks again but I have a couple more questions.. Sorry if I don't understand, but why is 20' "better" as a lower number than 30'? It would seem to me (The untrained) that it couldn't hurt, and it would burn more calories. I was wondering if you could point me to any literature on the abdominal stuf...

Thanks very much for the input so far. I am curious about a few things: 1. Why cut down the cardio from 30' to 20'? 2. Why are ab circuits a "waste"? (I'm an ex-rower and I've been following the ab plan from the Yale Heavyweight Team). 3. Should all the sets stay at 8 reps? 4. Any ideas on whether o...

Am I doing something wrong?

Hi all, For the past two months I've been training 6 days a week in the gym, and I have not been seeing the results I believe I have been training for. This is my routine: Monday: 30' Cardio + 30' Ab Circuit Tuesday: Off Wednesday: Push Bench Press w/ Dumbells - 4s x 8r Incline Bench Press w/ D - 4s...
