Oh, I do not fasten them. I guess that there is a slight outwards force, so they stay pressed against the edge. Maybe it is not the best positioning, but it does the trick for me!

After watching some more real bench press accidents (not just amusing farts) it is shocking that people do not use racks all the time. There was one with a spotter, and another with two spotters, and on both of them the guy dropped the bar but the spotters reacted too late. Crazy. Get a rack, stay s...

As promised, here is my "dip station". Note that this is not the height that I use it at! Just for an idea.

People have go injured on Smith machines because they are forcing their body to move slightly out of their nat...

The hex dumbell holds look best to me, as you have wider grip. In kung-fu we do finger exercises without weights. Hard to explain, but with arms out straight in front of you, palms facing down, bring your hands in towards your chest while closing each finger, one at a time, with index and thumb firs...

If you cannot afford a rack, then try to get some saw horses. They can handle a lot of weight, and are a good interim measure while you are still deciding if you want to invest in a rack. In case they are now called saw horses in he states, here is a random link (first on Google) of what I mean: Saw...

I definitely recommend a rack/cage, especially after seeing that YouTube clip. Did he actually snap his knee? With a good rack you can chuck some fence poles on it to create a dip station too - I bought 2 poles from a garden centre for 4 quid each, and they are great! The rack does have a lat pulldo...
