Actually the evidence shows that the opposite is true - that the hairier you are the stronger you are. Take a look at human history, we've been constantly losing hair and recently health experts have indicated that our population is severly obese and inactive. Going back millions of years we see how...

I'm going to put some variation in my exercise. This month to the end of July, I'm going low rep/high weight with the same exercises. Then I'm going back to 12/10/8 reps and alternating my months. I've been doing 12/10/8 reps for six months now and although I feel improvement, I'm getting bored with...

Why don't you set the safety bars in place? I have them for all my barbell exercises (except Deadlifts) for exactly this purpose.

What started me off to join this site was my search for weight-lifting standards. I started that search when during a fitness test the trainer said I should be able to bench press my body weight and dead lift 3x body weight. On some exercises listed in ExRx, I'm untrained, others advanced. I've gene...

I get new exercises from this site: http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/exercises.htm Those exercises (BO rows, Pullovers) work the main muscles along the spine (Rhomboids) with the Lats as secondary. Fine, but I wanted to look for Lats as the Primary. BTW, I've also been concentrating on my core and sk...

Thanks for the encouragement. This site is one of the reasons for my progress: fundamentals, proper form, etc.

I've basically givenup on machines (except for Lat pulldowns as there are no barbell or dumbell exercises for lats).

No, most of my workouts are at the gym with barbells (Squats, Deadlift, BO Row, Bench Press, etc). I do have dumbells at home, though. I'm lightweight. My BMI is 20 (5'7" 128lb). I would get intimidated asking someone to spot me with the comparably lighter weights I am using. But between my doctor a...

Because I don't have a spotter, when I increase the weight I would initially work out backwards: 8/10/12. So in my last rep with the lightest weight, although my arms would be shaking, I know I would be able to complete it without the risk of it crashing down on me. Then when I get adapted to that, ...

I use the mixed-grip because my grip is the limiting-factor of my Deadlifts. I alternate hands so both left and right fore-arms get the same workout. I've also experienced immediate improvement of my grip strength when I give my forearms a massage and plenty of rest between sets.

I also hate it when people flick cigarette butts wherever they please like the world is their ash tray. How about people who think they are better than you because they are born to a rich family or that they have more 'friends' or popular. Or how about star athletes/celebs who think they can get aw...

Wait a minute. There's a section in this same website called "Gym Etiquette" with the header "Avoid making too much noise" http://exrx.net/ExInfo/Etiquette.html It's noisy enough with the gym music blaring so loud my own MP3 player is damaging my eardrums as I try to listen to my own music. Imagine...

Pardon me if this was already discussed, as I didn't read the six previous pages. I'll redirect the topic slightly from the ethics of steroids to the science of steroids. When you normally exercise to failure, your muscles tissues tear. So if you take steroids and perform better than normally, won't...
