Pyramid

You know. The higher the weight the less reps. Progressively heavier from a, b and c at 5/4/3 reps. What if I found that I had reached my limit on an exercise, specifically the Bench Press. If on my final weight, "c" I can't even do one rep and the incremental weight between b and c are a pair of 2....

Fold them into a narrow strip and put them over your callouses before gripping the bar. Helps the grip because the pain you feel is the exercise and not distracted by the callouses pinching.

My weights keep fluctuating. When I think I'm making progress with my strength, I realize I'm not going as low as I want to. I'm only just below parallel and I'm not hitting the safety bars which are slightly lower.

So I lighten my load again so I can get right down.

I don't have an ipod. I have another type of cheap mp3 player that lets me listen to the radio. Can't stand the music played at the gym.

I have gloves. Don't use them anymore. Use tissue paper instead.

Max score=2.

Meanwhile, the original thread-starter, Bob is still without insurance. Within time the new legislation will help him along with 30million others. Until then, the opponents of the bill will just say "Too bad, you're a socialist."

A lot of Health-care opponents state Canada as a socialist state. A lot of people who live here certainly don't think Canada is evil. We are highly taxed (as compared to the resulting low out of pocket health care cost incurred by individuals). Also known amongst Canadians is that per capita we are ...

We aren't holding anyone at gun point. Ultimately all IRS enforcement is backed up with the threat of taking your property. And ultimately that comes down to force. This is the difference between charity and socialism. Charity is done by request, socialism is done by force. All laws come down to fo...

Well, I guess this thread is moot anyway. Obama care passed the house, and I don't see the Senate shutting it down. What I do see is a lot of Democrats getting tossed out of office this November. 37 States are suing the FedGovt right now for unconstitutionality of this bill. Tim As far as I know, t...

I'm a skinny guy so gaining 6lbs in a year was a real big deal for me. And then after a 10 day vacation, the 2 more pounds I gained was loss in 2 days after returning. I try to eat as much as I can but it doesn't stay.

So instructing fat people to eat less won't always hold true.

Funny, I don't think I am able to concentrate and voluntarily contract my lower back the way we can contract the calf, quads, abs, pecs, etc.

I guess it's the same as some people being able to move an ear.

My limitation of the inclined bench press is my lower back. Then a thought occurred to me: I am not able to tense up my lower back muscles.

Can anybody do that?

How do gyms usually feel about someone bringing in his own stuff?

This is a good idea. Sometimes I feel that adding 2.5lb plates crosses my maximum limit that I can't do but without the 2.5lb plates, it's still too light.

The smallest plates I've ever seen at my gym were 2.5lbs. Do we improvise something for 0.5lbs each side of the bar - like bags of sand or water?

I slip my running shoes off just before I do my exercises in the cage. I put my running shoes back on to load the plates.
