Re: Andy's journal

Leaving a place holder, just in case I ever get inspired to add missing data from September, 2014 through the end of December 2015. Don't be holding your breath.

Re: Steve's Journal Comments

What kind of warm up should be done for low set high rep days? Do you have a particular article or website or guide for undulating periodization? Also, I am currently doing 531 for the following lifts grouped as listed: Squat, Press and Lat Pull downs Deadlift, B Press and Pendlay Should I alternat...

Re: Where's Doc been, and what's he been up to?

What I've been puzzling over lately is whether or how much strength training, especially heavy axially-loaded lifts have contributed to my current woes. What damage have they done? I'm not the only person in the world with this diagnosis, and surely most of the rest of the other people have backs th...

Re: How do I engage the core?

Every exercise is a core exercise. Except maybe for small isolation lifts, every significant lift should engage the core. Of course, there's the old argument as to whether heavy compound lifts are sufficient for developing the core, or whether you should also do direct core training. I feel that the...

Re: Benching using Pullup Strategy

Well, congrats on the PR, regardless of the explanation. Sometimes things just come together.

Maybe more sleep than usual? Better food? Try to remember what you ate and try to reproduce it. You may have found the magic dietary formula at last!

Where's Doc been, and what's he been up to?

It may be presumptuous of me to even think that this questions has been on anyone's mind, but I'm going to answer it anyway! Those of you reading this who have been around this forum a few years may remember that I did not start exercising consistently until I was in my early 50s. 52, to be exact. 2...

I see. Well, obviously, I didn't see. Yes, there is much to be said for the discipline of the eyes.

Re: Best covering for weight bench?

If you want to go quality, I think upholstery leather would be the way to go. I think it is more durable than vinyl, and less slippery. Non-slip is the most important quality for daily function. There are lots of cleaning products for leather. I think you can get a spray that you would apply, then w...

So, I assume that on the plus set you wouldn't actually go AMAP, or even much over 5?

Re: Where is discussion these days?

While I understand feeling like you know enough to meet your needs, I like to keep reading new stuff and trying new things. Heck I only get around to trying about 1/2 the stuff I think about trying but it still keeps my head into exercising which helps me keep my body doing it. I wish this site wer...

Matt--

I'm old.

I'm slow.

I never was all that bright.

I don't understand. Perhaps I've never seen such yoga pants, or at least not noticed. Not to force you into more explicit explanation than you want to do, could you explain?
