It's still not clear to me that warm-up is all that important. I see lots of advice, and lists of benefits of warm-up, but rarely do I see people cite scientific evidence for their assertions. Some writers say something like "studies have shown" but don't tell you what studies. As a physician, I hav...

What vertebral level(s) are affected? Lumbar? Cervical? Have you attempted any squats or DLs since you've had the spondylolisthesis? If so, what weights did you try? Did you have any symptoms? Has your spinal surgeon specifically forbidden squats on DL, or have you concluded that through experience?...

Tim--Does that imply that you got in trouble a lot when you were in the Army? :) Would you tell someone to bench press daily or even multiple times per day? I'm pretty sure you'd talk to them about recovery. Why would PUs be any different? Just because that's the way the army did it 35 years ago doe...

It sonds normal to me. I've seen PL types that can squat 500 plus have trouble with almost the same symptoms you wrote. They're basically to tight all over, but in particular, in the shoulder girdle. That's why a PVC or wooden dowel is recommended, with a wide grip. In his book, "The Strongest shell...
Tim--you've recommended this before, and I've putzed around with it a bit. If I keep the bar overhead, I get "stuck" going down, maybe about 1/3 of the way. I'd have to move the bar way forward or bring it down to my back to complete the squat. I tried it today, and having neither a dowel nor a piec...

Re-reading the original post, I didn't get the impression that lacrymosa lifts at all. I think she would have mentioned that if she did. I think that she was looking for some quick easy exercise that would shape her shoulders, and is probably in shock that she generated this thread. I'd also encoura...

Chris--the photos came through on my browser, as they obviously did on Kenny's. Something about broswer settings? Security?Chris_A wrote:
And what are you talking about when you mention her picture? I’ve not seen one.
