stuward... I had a trainer (a good one that trained competition bodybuilders), and he measured my fat with calipers. I'm not sure how you did the math. 215 lbs X 25% BF = 53.8 lbs of fat. 188 X 14% BF = 26.3 lbs of fat. A loss of 27.5 lbs of fat... so the entire loss was fat... What am I missing? Th...

I did gain the weight back... and then I did the exact same program (sans the cardio) and didn't get the same results. Seems like cardio is absolutely necessary to cut fat... but when you "achieve your goal," you can continue with the weight training and diet without the cardio to maintain.

Cardio?

A few years back, I went on a challenge program that involved weight training, strict diet and cardio. I also took creatine and maybe some other supplements. The weight training was four days per week (Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri), the diet involved 6-7 meals per day (three whole food protein and carb b...

BHK... I agree and thanks to everyone who responded. Here's my dilemma and why I started this thread. My fiance is just now learning about "healthy foods" and doesn't want to be bothered by the "science" of it all. I am just happy that she is trying and sticking to something that will be a foot in t...

What if something had 150 calories with zero fat and zero fiber? And zero protein??? Well, we all know what that means! Is that reall...

Protein?

Thanks Tim... When using 1.14 grams of protein for each lb of lean mass... She would have to consume ~ 30 grams of protein per meal. That's 600 calories of protein per day. That is going to be difficult for her to swallow (pun intended)... Perhaps I should wait until weight loss has occurred before ...

Weight Watchers Weight Training

My fiance and I have started going to the gym for weight training. She has gotten on Weight Watchers and is very excited about her progress. I am a little worried that she is not getting the nutrients required to support a weight training program. It's hard for me to broach the subject of her diet, ...
