Re: interesting article on steroids and crossfit

I also have to call BS on the FFMI stuff. For example, while Eugene Sandow was an impressive physical specimen, he trained mainly for strength, not hypertrophy. Meanwhile, he made a name for himself at a time when a VERY small percentage of the population was weight training. It's ridiculous to ass...

Re: interesting article on steroids and crossfit

yeah I think you're probably right. The most interesting part of the article I thought was the graphs showing how increases in 100m performance coincided with the release on new compounds you can't test for, and the other graph showing how performances in other sports decreased when they started tes...

If you're trying to lose weight I'd actually recommend keeping your breakfast carbless

interesting article on steroids and crossfit

While I don't suppose anyone on this forum is naïve enough to think that world class athletes aren't using steroids, this article makes some interesting points anyway

Re: Dumbbell Bent-Over Row

I think the YTWI (I haven't much done the L because I usually do and coach them while lying on the ground because you know, I'm usually coaching a whole team) is the best exercise to work your upper back. I love the agony people have with just bodyweight YTWI's when done for the first time. It look...

Re: phosphatidylserine to help "switch off"

phosphatidylserine by the Vitamin shoppe has theirs at 100mg per capsule 1 capsule per day. is this better than the 20% one you found/had? I know I'm reviving an old thread, but this pertains to me and i was interested. it would depend on whether that 100mg was more than 20%. I would also check mak...

Re: another reason not to drink fizzy juice

just seems to be another example of all sorts of crap in those drinks. It might be harmful, it might not, but it definitely seems like it's best avoided to me

Re: Dumbbell Bent-Over Row

do YTWLIs as part of your warm up https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Co0vK1sPT_w That's a new one on me - thanks mate you'll love it. Makes my shoulders feel amazing after, no matter how achey they're feeling before it. If you're doing it weighted, less is more. I use 2k bells and it's still hard work

Re: A new look at red meat statistics.

I've given up the fight to clear red meat's name. Now when people tell me all the meat I eat is going to kill me or clog my arteries or whatever I just smile and nod.

The more people fear it, the more meat there is left for me.
