Re: Unilateral Work, Legs

Mr Blades, It’s balanced and I still make progress, albeit more slowy now of course. But, I see this like the argument to add lateral delt work even when you are rocking the newbie gains. Just because something is working, doesn’t mean it cant be better. Doing static lunges last night, reminded me ...

Re: Unilateral Work, Legs

I used to do this...read something, think it was a great idea...I need that. Problem is, it usally means I take something out that I really DO need at this stage. I remember reading a while ago something like 'if you've been lifting consistantly for less than 5 years, then your whole body is a weak ...

Re: 5/3/1 percentages

I use the second option you listed. You should use the option that suits you better. Have you read the book? If you read it, you will be better informed of which to use. Thats what I did, cant remember the reason off the top of my haed, but it made sence at the time. You'll also know then that its m...

Re: Losing Strength. I feel like one of the guys

i'd say just dont let it get you down. When cutting, you'll get weaker usually.

The best bit, is when you stop the cut, strength will shoot back up sharply, faster than you think.

Yes, just keep it heavy and simple, thats usually the best way to keep the muscle on.

Re: Why don't we attract more quality members?

Well, I love the site. I may not post very often, but i'm here pretty much everyday. I like to stay in the background, read through the advice from our most experienced lifters here. I'm not a newbie, this will be my forth year of lifting soon. I didn't quit, kept it up, even after giving up my gym ...

Re: Problems with throwing out bread

I eat around 90 eggs a week, around 800 grams of protein. Wow, that's a lot of eggs, lol. So, 13 eggs a day? Really, that much? You eat them all at one time for a biiiig breakfast, or do you just eat egg breaky, lunch, & din-din? yes, pretty much breakfast, post workout and supper. My doctors nurse...

Re: Madcow and Deadlift

It's funny that this should come up actually, I've recently changed my routine slightly and i've not deadlifted heavy for about two weeks. 3 days ago I pulled a Deadlift PR for a double and my pullup performance went up all on the same day! I thought I was just being mighty...now I have an explanati...

Re: Madcow and Deadlift

For some background info, Madcow's was based on Starr's big 3, and even in Starr's advanced stuff you won't find DL's, or at least not often. His base was on power cleans and clean pulls, with good mornings thrown in assistance. Starr was breaking DL records, not doing them. Askem was the same way,...

Re: Madcow and Deadlift

So my question is, if I put hip thrusts into Madcow in place of deadlifts, and work out the numbers for reps/sets, am I fooling myself that deadlift will improve? Are there other exercises that *must* be done to make this happen? If your swapping out Deadlifts for Hip Thrusts, how can your deadlift...

Re: mouthguard helping training??

6. Drive your toes through the front of your trainers and heels into the floor (depending on the foot position of your set-up) (engages knee flexors and extensors)
Yeah....you can only do this if yer toenails are really sharp! :thumbleft:

Re: Keratosis Pilaris

I've got this mainly on my triceps, so does my mum. I also notice that when I'm lifting loads and eating as much asnpossible that it gets worse and spreads to my back and front deltas. doesn't bother me though, it's barely noticeable. I'm 22 and noticed it in my teens. yes, I have it on my front de...

Keratosis Pilaris

For those that dont know what it is, its basically small bumps/blackheads (except their white) usually on the top and back of your arms. The bumps are excess keratin protein in the skin. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Keratosis_pilaris" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; I'm curious, does a...
