When I do shrugs I usually use something around 40lb dumbbells in each hand. Hold at the top of the shrug for 3seconds, pinch my shoulders back for another 3seconds and then drop as low enough to feel them stretch and repeat. Thats worthless unless you have traps comparable to the strength of a 4 y...

Cardio/Fat Burning Question

Totally newbish to fat burning because I have never had to do it and I won't be doing it for a while but just for some heads up.... How long does a cardio session have to last to start burning fat? Along those lines what is a good cardio session to enhance fat burning? I was thinking maybe treadmill...

That's true. I know a lot of people who can bench a good 200lbs but can't complete 10-15 strict form push-ups. Push ups aren't really a problem for me and I don't usually feel a burn until I get around the 30count so I don't usually do them on lifting days. We do them on every Muay Thai class though...

Dumbbell Fly's

I usually include these in on my lifting days, I have one simple question.

In your opinion.
Would regular flat bench dumbbell fly's or incline fly's be better in a sense of muscle development?

French Curl

Heard someone talking about these the other day, did a simple google search and couldn't really find anything of value.

Can anyone explain the motions, benefits and what muscles are targetted by this excercise?

-Thanks

Re: jogging after workout

Guys i know this sounds funny but i resently joined this intense workout team and the thing is their workouts are wierd. Its basicaly like tihis, we jog 1 mile before lifting then we lift for 1 hour and 30 minutes with intensity like we basicaly do every single exercise possible in that 1 hour and ...

I dont even include pushups in a regular lifting day, waste of time if you ask me.

There are plenty of other excercises you can do to work the same muscles. Bench press, pull ups, chin ups, military/shoulder press... etc

I just found this online simply searching with google:
http://www.oxygenmag.com/main.php?page=1&id=574

If you notice, it includes the dumbbell one arm pushup and it claims to target mainly the pectoral muscles.

Just thought I would throw it out there

will doing 3 sets of 10 or 20 elevated or regular push ups every workout help me get my strength up for flat bench press? Shoulder Press/Military Press will help your flat bench greatly. The more you can lift in the shoulder/military press and the stronger your shoulders get the more your will be a...
