Re: Erick's Log Comments

Erick, I think right now I'm emerging from the research/book learning stage and into the "I want to pwn the bar" stage. I know what you mean about that, it's good to load up on the theory, it really does help, but there's a point where you've gone over everything and should know enough to just go l...

Re: Erick's Log Comments

(Also, Hoose told me something that will always stick with me too: After the best explanation on supplements I've ever heard: "But I'm just a dumb farmer, what do I know?" I can't explain how or why that meant so much, but it really does, to this day. I use that in my professional life, constantly....

Re: GHR

Mine doesn't have the knee pads at the back end of the thigh pads. So, I have to hold myself up at the top rather than kneel on a pad like dude in the .gif

Re: Erick's Log Comments

If I understand your approach, it might be "strong is good, looking strong is good, being and looking strong both are great." This is the idea I get from your posts. That might be a better summary than I could have given it myself. Expect me to steal this line many times going forward. If I made an...

Re: A bit of a rant on Stronglifts

One of my biggest problems in life is that I always see greener grass, So, you are married too? ;) Ken, It is my pleasure to watch your evolution in thought processes. Very interesting to watch from the outside looking in. Particularly when you are having similar "struggles" that I had mentally.

Re: Can anyone shed any light on this?

This may end up a long ass post, fair warning: Ok, whilst on the subject of Lateral Deltoids - what is your routine? What I've found works best for me, is to do my raises first. I am front delt dominant on pressing, so I pre-fatigue the side delts with raises. This allows me to not lose too much wei...

Re: Can anyone shed any light on this?

Thats great - just wanted to make sure! Should I swap my Flat bench for Incline for a while or just add more incline volume to my chest day? I currently changed to barbell bench on a 531 approach and kept Incline dumbbell press afterwards. I'm thinking I should structure like so: Flat Bench (531) I...

Re: Can anyone shed any light on this?

It is your tie ins then, they are lagging. Do wide grip inclines both BB and DB as whatever is more comfortable, and make them a priority. Pre-fatigue your lateral delts before overhead pressing, and do some raises. Power shrugs will also help this to a small degree, because you use your upper chest...

Re: Can anyone shed any light on this?

lol, sounds like your tie in's are lagging. You aren't a freak at all. This is one of the first signs of someone that focused only on certain lifts because articles lied to them and told them they would develop evenly even though they worked everything uneven. I see a steady diet of incline pressing...

Re: Random crap

I kinda agree with the "god created women to smell good" theory.

I mean shoot, women don't even poop until they get married. With that kind of biological control, they can smell good at the gym.

Re: Erick's Log Comments

Erick, it seems like you're doing a program of squat/dead, then pressing, then what looks like a day of accessories focused on arms. Am I getting this right? What kind of split would you call that? When I'm not working late nights I pretty much run a 4 way. Trying to double up weakest area's the mo...

Re: GHR

OK, dumb question. The exrx.net site shows a Glute-ham raise on a Roman chair, what range of motion are you doing just on the floor. Just flat to the floor and back up? I will bend all the way over like that at times, but I tend to do it more explosive that way, and I'm not doing this to be better ...

Re: "Individualization"

What about the phrase "yes there are programs that “fit all”. They just have to be rooted in common sense."? I agree with Eric. The statements are not contradictory. They're just 2 sides of the same coin. Some things are universal but there are individual differences. As for a "fit all" program, th...
