By the way with the pull-ups, I only have one of those doorway bars, so I can't use a wide grip as demonstrated on the Mahler page. My forearms would be about parrallel to each other when im at the top of the motion. Will this be working as well as doing the wide-grip pull-ups? Also, can I mix it up...

So save the Tabata until you aren't supporting 5RM weights over your body or on your back.
Sorry I don't know what that means. So I should be leaving a rest day in between then?

Yeah it'll be 5kgs. But I saw this woman (slim too...) doing them with 35lb each arm on youtube. And supposedly doing tabata although their were cuts and they only showed 3 sets.
Still, if that's true, good Lord.

Yeah when I say toning I mean more definition. Just losing a bit of excess fat. I think I'm gonna do push ups and thrusters for the tabata protocol. Better than spending money on the rowing machine. Would it be unwise to do pushups immediately the day before or after I do bench press for my workout?...

OK I just realised what thrusters are. Because I'll be doing the Mahler workout, would it not matter if I only did, day, 5kgs dumbbells each arm for thrusters? Cause it all just comes down to pushing yourself doesn't it. Like doing as many as you possibly can in that 20 seconds. The weight doesn't m...

New routine - how is it?

Here it is (basically the Mahler starting strength and tabata) Day 1 Chest press and bent over upright row, alternating. 3 sets each. Squats and straight legged deadlifts, alternating. 3 sets each. Rest Day Day 2 Tabata - pushups. Day 3 Shoulder press and pull-ups, alternating. 3 sets each. Squats a...

Tabata protocol exercises

What would you guys recommend as the best exercise for the tabata protocol? I'm more interested in toning by upper body so I was thinking a rowing machine. Also what would you guys recommend in the way of rowing machines? There are all these cheap ones on eBay but I'm worried it'll break if I go fla...

This is the workout I was referring to: http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/mahler62.htm It's pretty awesome so far. I just want to try the tabata thing too. I go to uni full time and work pretty much full time too so its difficult to make time for other stuff. But I think I could fit in a 5 minute warm...

When I say cardio I just mean some sort of aerobic exercise. In fact specifically I mean the tabata protocol. I'm gonna give that a go. At the moment I'm just doing that A1,A2,B1,B2 routine as I said in the other post (not the bananas in pyjamas routine. That does NOTHING!) You guys were all right t...

Yeah sorry about that post. I always seem to stumble into message boards and post things that I don't realise have been discussed several times before. I should make friends with the search button. On a different note, I've always been in the "unhealthy" range BMI, even now, but I'm far from fat. I'...

I'm pretty sure I have a Mesomorphic physique. My shoulders are naturally pretty broad and if I start doing weights I get bigger pretty quickly. I just have a bit too much fat on me to see much definition around my abs or chest. But my shoulders look pretty big. And my traps are naturally big, so I'...

Ideal weight

Alright I know this is pretty subjective... But bare with me. I'm a newb at all this. I'm 178cm, went away at Christmas weighing about 81kgs, came back weighing about 84kgs (I was pretty big at this stage. Not ridiculous. But pretty heavy). I went on a diet for a few months and got down to about 75k...
