Feedback on new workout.

Hi all, I've recently started working in place which makes it very inconveniant to go to the gym after or before work. Previously I've been doing 2 x full body workouts per week, alternating squats/dead lifts as my lower body exercise. But because it's such a pain to get to the gym now, I'm thinking...

Here's an interesting follow up. I recently changed my program a bit and incorporated some lateral raises on my military press day. Just one set of 10-12 (to failure) to finish off the workout. Interestingly, after doing full body workouts for several months with no direct lateral delt work, I could...

Just in case anyone is interested, I have some feedback on this. I dropped my workouts back to twice a week and now do HIIT twice a week. And the problem is gone. Unfortunately I cut back and introduced cardio at the same time, so it's impossible to tell whether the issue was overtraining or lack of...

Sounds like a great complex TimD. Thanks for that. I'm thinking I'll throw a few of those in after my HIIT once a week. My week will then look like this:

M: Full Body A
T: HIIT (no complexes)
W: Off
T: Full Body B
F: Off
S: HIIT (with some light Javorek complexes)
S: Off

Some good research there, thanks Jeffrerr. I actually used to use CalorieKing.com.au (am Australian) when I was losing weight. It worked quite well. Might be a battle trying to get my wife to put that much effort in to analysing her diet though ... we "eat healthy" but don't get that analytical. Als...

Wife lifting to burn fat - protein or not?

Hi guys, I've recently managed to convince my wife that hour long cardio classes (in isolation) may not be the best way to burn fat. She's now going to do two full body workouts a week with me, and two cardio classes (still can't convince her to do HIIT with me though). My question - where do people...

Thanks for the responses guys, here are a few answers: Jeffrer: I'm doing a standing military press. I know the lateral delts are listed as a synergist, but they certainly don't feel like they get much of a workout. Also the DB Rows are bent-over. Although these have been in my workouts for a long t...

Full Body Workout and lateral delts.

Hi guys, As detailed in my previous thread http://exrx.net/forum/viewtopic.php?p=28959#28959 I have recently changed to a full body workout (please ignore stuff-up re: starting strength comment). I put the workout together based on what I could cobble together from this site and others, focussing on...

Yes sorry about that. I re-read the Starting Strength stuff and realised it really wasn't that similar. I did a lot of reading about full body workouts before I switched and I must have got a little confused.

I had my first workout since I got back today, and it was as bad as it's ever been! This is what confused me as I was hoping if it had been overtraining that the three week break would help. I'm not sure it could be the move - I did my upper/lower split for three or four months here before I switche...

Changed to full body workout and struggling.

Hi all, I've been reading this site for a while now and have found it a great source of information. However I have been having a bit of an issue since changing to a full body workout and felt it would be a good time to start posting. First some background. I'm 28, male, 68kgs (150 lbs) and I have b...
