I felt a bit like what you are describing on four workouts a week. I changed back to three, and started a new program, and felt much better. Now anytime I start getting overly bored I change programs or change up the lifts. I usually takes around 3 months or so, so is usually a good time to change i...

Speaking of the A-Team ... I used to think Mr. T was huge, back in the day. But I've been watching re-runs lately ... not that big at all.

I vote you see if Fitness First will second you to Australia. Brisbane, Adelaide St. FF in particular ...

Although you probably don't want to come here, as mentioned in the Random Crap thread, they just got rid of the only cage and replaced it with a half rack.

I think it depends on what your goals are. I would have thought 3 workouts a week would be enough for either hypertrophy or fat loss, combined with a good diet. Seems to work for most people.

Btw, I WISH I had the time to workout 6 times a week. I struggle for twice at the moment.

Can't really do powerlifting quats or deads, but some of the funky exercises might work.
This is why I think some of the people here who DO squat and dead find it hard to stomach when you argue with them.

Also, KPj, GHRs on the lat pulldown machine must get you some looks.

My gym has also been upgraded! All new machines (meh), including two new pull-up racks (good). More benches (good). Full size plates now (yes!). BUT THEY GOT RID OF THE FULL RACK AND REPLACED IT WITH A HALF RACK. Seriously, wtf? Why would you do that? I'm pretty furious with them right now. It's the...

Brisbane, Australia. Freezing here at the moment (12 degrees C - OMG!). Had to pull out my leather jacket this morning.

Where does everyone stand on BB rows in the squat rack? I kind of understand it, but surely most people could dead lift their row weight and start from there? Had to wait for 10 minutes for the only squat rack in the gym on Saturday, while a guy did 60 kg BB rows, which was pretty frustrating. Worst...

My personal experience supports what the Doc said. I used to stretch everything after a workout, but don't think I got a lot from my upper body stretches. I then got lazy and stopped stretching. During that period, I developed some issues with hip mobility for which I had to go see the Physio. I now...

KPj, if your Fitness Firsts in Scotland are the same as ours here, it's no wonder people are sniggering behind your back.

I don't think I've ever seen a PT at the FFs I go to get a client to squat (other than Smith) or dead lift.

LOL, that happened to me the other day. This massive guy asked me to spot his Smith bench. He was benching about 100 kgs. To put it into perspective, my deadlift 1RM is 140kgs. He got maybe one rep out, then needed assistance for another three or four. Turned into a set of deads for me. Or more like...

I used to do 3x5 three times a week and it worked well for me. I've since switched to 5x5 (5 heavy sets, 2 warm-ups) but I can only work out twice a week at the moment. Also 5x5 takes a long time. I end up supersetting presses and rows/pull-ups to cut the time down. I agree with the other posters. 5...
