Couple of new PBs recently: Dead lift: 140 kgs x 1 (>2x bodyweight) Back squat: 5x5x102.5 kgs (1.5 x bodyweight) Pretty happy with these, given that I've been eating below maintenance recently (trying to get back into 32" waist pants). Dead wasn't a true 1RM, I'd done 5x100 and 3x120 prior to that r...

Some recommend something for the lateral delts on top of the big six. Side raises, etc.

KPj, what's your position on someone wanting to work-in on the power rack but who is lifting a significantly different weight? I never say no, but it sh!ts me if someone wants to come in and do 40 kg curls when I am squatting 100+. I don't need to waste calories re-loading the bar! I get harrassed b...

I failed once. Right at the bottom. I had the safety bars set just below where I stop. I ended up kind of leaning forwards a bit, and toppling forwards a little to set the bar down on the stops. In hindsight, I probably could have just dropped lower into the squat. Didn't hurt myself ... I guess the...

If I was about to win the Tour de France, or a gold medal, I'd do it.

When do you do your single leg work?

As the subject says, I'm interested in how you program your single leg work.

I'm currently doing two separate full body workouts. Workout A has me doing BB squats and single leg deads. Workout B has conventional deads and lunges.

Interested to see how others do it.

If they get a vegan day, do the rest of us get a meat day? There are actually ads on TV here that are pro-meat. I think they're put on by a meat industry group but it's still good. They extoll the virtues of meat, talk about how humans wouldn't have evolved to where we are without eating meat, etc. ...

KPj, those stats were a long time ago. Like 18 months to 2 years ago. At that point I was working on the HIT principle from this site, i.e. 10-12 reps to failure. After that stalled, I went to three full bodies a week at 3x5, with exercises similar to Stronglifts. That took my up to 3x5x105kgs on sq...

Can't help you on the Smiths, I think I've only ever done them once. When I started I was 66 kgs (145 lbs) at 5'6", reasonably low body fat, and I did sets of 12 at 40 kgs (88 lbs). Then I upped it by 5 kgs every workout until I got to about 60 kgs after which progress slowed (but was still steady)....

Re: the side things. Just do your warm-ups with the bar only. Unless you're a very small guy, there's no way you're going to get stuck under that. Judge how low you're going at the end of your warm-ups and set the safety bars just below that. If the bar hits the safety rails on your next warm up, ju...

I use FitSync on my phone. You set-up work-outs in a web page, download them to your phone, then punch in your reps and weights as you work-out. After the work-out, it uploads them back into your profile and you can view graphs, stats, etc.

Costs about $5 a month though.
