Looks good to me - you're covering all the movements. What did you hear was bad or wrong about it? It seems to be pretty close to vanilla Starting Strength, but with front squats mixed in.

deadlift form

A couple of recent threads prompted me to get some video of my own deadlifts. Can you guys weigh in and let me know how my form looks? First video is my 2nd working set, 5 reps at 235 lbs, angle slightly from behind. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x4FvZmAImx8 Second video is my 3rd working set, 5 re...

(in most countries other than Russia, we list setsXReps so 3x5 is 3 sets of 5 reps and 5x3 is 5 sets of 3 reps.) Apparently I have been listing sets x reps in reverse (as last I checked, I am not in Russia). So really the thread should've been titled "1x10 vs 3x5". I'll reset back to 3x5 at 225 (I ...

Do you have any scoliosis? Seems like that could be a source of imbalance.

10x1 vs 5x3

When I set up my workout routines, it was mostly based on Starting Strength. But I skimmed too much without really understanding it and for the majority of my movements, I have been using 2 warmup sets and a working set, all 10 reps each. So for example, if I was eventually going to squat 225 at 10 ...

Hockey is a novelty sport. Most people don't really care. that is actually pretty region dependent. The detroit michigan area is more into hockey than football. I would imagine that there are other areas that are similar. debatably, yes - although football (NFL and NCAA) here has had a tough stretc...

how does it get tight though and how can that be prevented? am I not using my legs enough? Racquetball is mostly wrist and forearm, with some shoulder involvement and lat. Using more legs isn't the issue. Soreness isn't bad except that it sucks. I don't understand why you're concerned, as long as y...

How could lowering you body all the way reduce your range of motion? I posted two different connections next to each other, and they should have been in reverse order. Obviously a dead-hang pullup is a bigger ROM than only bringing the shoulders below the elbows. I suppose I just meant to ask/sugge...

Ok, Jungledoc, but you have to add a disclaimer. I'll have to try some half pull-ups just for grins - it's not obvious to me that they'd really be that much easier. I was wondering how badly you guys would kill me over that. Surprised it's not worse, really. Is the metric for a pullup that each rep...

well the first one is dead hang, but i'm talking about not dropping back down to dead-hang (straight arm) for each rep, just going down so the shoulder gets lower than the elbows.

Luckily I'm still seeing pretty decent gains on all my lifts although squat is slowing a little. Hopefully these PRs get broken pretty soon.

2/11/10 -
Squat, 9 reps @ 255
bench press, 9 @ 145
pullups, 15 (bw, not dead-hang)

2/8/10
Deadlift, 8 @ 265

body weight ~180

In my situation, what do you think I should use as the main lift in replacement for bench press? <snip> I hate to be "that guy" to do this, but you've gotta stop threadjacking. If you have specific questions please start a separate thread. It detracts from the original discussion, and it won't get ...

Shoveling 8 inches of snow off your driveway and sidewalks is pretty good interval training. Hours later I still feel almost out of breath.

Sometimes your own playing style matches up badly against other players' styles. It may be that you're the better overall player, but if she beats you head-to-head, then simply put she's better than you.
