Root Canals

Just at the dentist the other day and apparently am in need of a root canal. I have talked with several people that have had them that tell me they weren't effective at what they were supposed to do and in some cases, made things worse as far as pain goes. After plenty of internet scouring and resea...

Re: Gun Control

You know I was thinking the other day...have they ever tried a pin code safety that enables the trigger or something on a gun so it won't be able to be shot unless the correct pin is in? Just curious...I honestly don't know and that's why I am asking. Let's say for hypothetical reasons, cause perhap...

Re: Gun Control

"That quote was evidence to my claim that there are other reasons for the 2nd amendment." - Jebus As I have stated before, I realize this. But a big part of why this was included was for militia's. I agree that caution should be exercised before any real action taken. Sort of like the scientist who ...

Re: Gun Control

"I'm sure they exist. Why they're not used, I have no idea." - Stuward Well we both agree they exist, even the occasional criminal who might get one (I don't know how often they have been, I just know its not a lot) I have a theory on why they aren't used though. Because they have been made illegal,...

Re: Gun Control

"That, and the fact that there is no way that gun control would have have had any impact on previous mass shootings." - Stuward This actually brings me to another interesting point regarding weapons with more firepower. We agree that it is illegal to own a bazooka? And you probably agree with the ar...

Re: Gun Control

"Overthrowing the government is not the only reason for gun ownership" - Jebus Actually this is what the founding fathers (if you are American) had in mind when they drafting the second amendment. This WAS the reason for it. While I agree it has basically no meaning in our current times, and am not ...

Re: Gun Control

That is perhaps an unintended benefit of them Hoosegow. These guns were still created for warfare. I'm not saying that's a bad thing, as its best to arm our troops with weapons that maximize damage to the enemy and minimize it to them.

Re: Gun Control

What you're describing is already illegal. Meanwhile, full-auto weapons are HEAVILY regulated (since the 1930s) and very expensive. It's really only a few hardcore collectors who own them, and as far as I know, no registered machine gun or sub-machine gun has ever been used in a crime. It's really ...

I have to admit- were they legal, I'd love to see them in action

Re: Gun Control

What about bazookas, grenade launchers, etc? Do you think they should be legal? If you are for rifles such as the one used in Newtown...seems like these would be more legitimate for private citizens to own in the case of an uprising against the gov't. Just curious.

Re: Gun Control

In gun control's defense, I have the feeling this would be a very effective weapon if someone enters my home- http://www.amazon.com/Cold-Steel-Indian-Club-Polypropylene/dp/B000OZC5RW/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1355925608&sr=8-1&keywords=indian+war+club" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; If s...

Re: Gun Control

I have to wonder how successful the people would be if indeed we did need to revolt against the govt, even with assault rifles. I mean, will we ever stand a chance against the govt if things continue the way the are? While the framers of the constitution had the right idea here, where if the govt no...

Re: Good self defense advice for...

Oh man I really didn't mean to further a gun control debate in this thread. I nor she are gun control advocates. To be honest, she's thoroughly scared of them. It's quite irrational I'll admit, but the thought of guns elicits the same response of snakes and spiders (which of course she's scared of t...

Re: Good self defense advice for...

Bas Rutten's "Punk Payback" videos and a hangun and trusted friends to accompany her and a better neighborhood Her neighborhood honestly isn't that bad but I've found that the type of punks that like to harass women by themselves are pretty much everywhere. I'm assuming hangun is supposed to be han...

Re: Good self defense advice for...

No not a gun that shoots bullets...a stun gun or taser...the thing that incapacitates through shocking them basically. It's legal where I am at in the US. No way she'd ever go for carrying around an actual gun though.
