Re: Training for stamina

Well an update...over the past two weeks I've been doing a little more training for stamina (bodyweight circuits, some "standard" cardio like biking and swimming, and harder runs with the dog) and have already felt a marked improvement in an overall fitness level. Perhaps it was just "shaking off th...

Good self defense advice for...

Someone without any experience in self defense and without the money to enroll in self defense classes. Am I talking about myself? No. The miss and I got a dog together recently and it stays with her (we don't live together). So when I am not there obviously she walks the dog. The dog is not a very ...

Re: Training for stamina

Thanx for the advice all. I'm taking all of it under advisement. To KPJ- What I meant by moderate weightlifting is easing up on volume, not really intensity. Also I lowered the amount of reps to 5 on my heavy set, and not 8 to 10 like I used to do. I only do 2 exercises per weightlifting session as ...

Re: Training for stamina

I wouldn't so much mind the shorter distance training that isn't flat out sprints, maybe 75%- 85% intensity is ok for me to do on a regular basis. Also, things involving my dog (like short things like that) would be great suggestions so we both get a workout. She loves fetch- and she loves it more w...

Training for stamina

Hi all, Been awhile since I posted here. Still been keeping at it with moderate weightlifting, but have pretty much dropped most forms of "stamina" (I prefer the term over cardio). But a situation arose last weekend that made me question what I've been doing, exercise wise, over the last year or so....

Re: Random Controversey Crap (Politics, etc)

Well...I like the south park creator's opinion on the repubs and dems. He says "I hate conservatives, but I really [email protected]!king hate liberals". That's exactly how I feel, except the other way around. The epitome of what I mean, aside from what A LOT of Ironman has talked about, is regarding these wall st...

Re: Ruci's Log

I also forgot to mention yesterday that I walked for probably 40 mins at the park and did some deep squat holding positions along the way. 3 of them for about 10 seconds each. Trying to build up some endurance in my legs!

Re: Ruci's Log

It's been a LONG time since I've been seriously lifting...for me at least...so today I felt great and decided to do a lighter workout that was sort of a hybrid bodyweight/weight training workout.
