Kenny, I can see this is a subject close to your heart, and let me preface by saying the only person i blame for my failure is myself. I went in totally unprepared and in hindsight i think i should have attended my first meet as a spectator, i let my ego run away with me when deciding my openers and...

First meet failure!
So yesterday I had my first Powerlifting meet, and as you may guess from the title.... it didn't go well! Squat: 1st attempt: 125kg GOOD 2nd attempt: 130kg NO GOOD, got stuck about 4 inches above parrallel, pushed and pushed but wasn't budging. 3rd attempt: 130kg brought feet in about 2 inches slowe...

So I just got done watching Fat Head the docu-movie, It was (relatively) entertaining, although the information won't be new to most low carbers it was well represented by various academics including Michael Eades (author of Proein Power) My favorite line in the movie was "The Government's only rede...

One that was recommended to me was 'Fat Head' Didn't get chance to see it yet though so can't say if it's any good. I did see Food inc. though, I actually watched it a couple of times i enjoyed it that much! Is it wrong that I was feeling jealous about the selection of fast food places there are in ...

Unfortunately the federation I'm lifting in specifies a two hour weigh in, so I'm bound on that front, I thought two hours would give me enough time to get fluid, food, and mybe some kind of electrolyte concoction into me before i start lifting, but then i suppose lifting with a heap of food and liq...

After reading some old articles on elitefts, I did a bit of an experiment over the weekend, having been consuming around 1 to 1 1/2 gallons water p/day of the last week, I cut water intake at 2pm saturday and ate 1 lemon. (Apparently the lemon increases urination, this I can wholeheartedly confirm )...

creatine and making weight
Just wondered if anyone had experience/opinions on stopping creatine use to make weight for competition? I have my first powerlifting comp in three weeks and was curious as to whether it would be worth stopping my creatine intake now to shed any excess water weight? It's a two hour weigh in and i ha...

epigastric hernia
Due to a recent reduction in bodyfat, i have noticed that i have an epigastric hernia, or at least thats what i believe due to some extensive google based research! I have read that this type of hernia is rarely harmful, but my concern is that whilst squatting, deadlifting etc.... will this large in...

Yeah, like a few people on these forums, i don't seem to do very well with larg quantities of milk, I remember reading a post on marks daily apple about building muscle paleo style, he's an advocate of the dozen eggs a day (ADEAD as he calls it) oh and "Eat a big piece of fatty meat every single day...
