As long as it isn't costing too much you should fine, but vitamins are needed in such small quantites it's hard to actually get deficient through western diet. But like you said your physician advised you about the Calcium. Calcium actually inhibits iron absorption so I wouldn't take them together a...

Hmm I don't hate splits, but I think it's easy to miss out the harder exercises when you're not doing TBT. When I started training I did splits and hardly ever did deadlifts and squats because they were on my 'leg day'. Because I was quite inconsistent I would often only make the gym 2 out of 3 time...

I'm sure you're aware of skeletal muscle's ability to stretch and the elasticity properties it has. The calf is the perfect example. The eccentric position is the starting point (dorsi flexion) in calf raises and the same with exercises such as dips, bench press, squats etc. As the muscle lengthens,...

From experience I'd recommend starting on full bodys. You can do full bodys for a good two years at least without a plateua if you vary reps and exercises. I've had the most gains from the obvious compound exercises like deadlifts, squats, chins etc. I used to hate these, and I started off on splits...

Protein has many uses other than tissue repair. You would have to be eating a very large amount before anything significant is stored. It will most likely be used for energy first especially when carbohydrates deplete during intensive exercise. The nitrogen part of a protein is the part excreted and...

I used to have this problem but it only limits you for so long until you adapt to the heavier weight and then can increase weight again. I normally do the first set with a pronated grip and sets two and three with a mixed grip. I find I can lift a lot more with a mixed grip, it feels more locked in ...

Great article, any idea if the following one is out? I always consumed about 60g of dextrose/maltodextrin in my post workout shake but I think I'm gonna leave it as of tommorrow, especially while trying to trim down a bit. It's quite confusing to know how much is beneficial for a positive effect for...

It's normally more in compound exercises, so any of them really. For example yesterday I only had time for a few slices of peanut butter on toast before the gym and I was getting that horrible burn while doing incline bench press and chins, it's annoying because it's not my muscles working to failur...

Just a quick one!

I've always thought about this and have never known why it happens but when I lift sometimes I get a real burning feeling. Not the sort of feeling where my muscles can't handle anything else, but a horrible pain sort of like doing endurance work. I've noticed this happens more when I'm limiting my c...

Yeah I guess, I've never really been on a cut because I have quite a small build. But this year my overall proportion seems a lot better than previous years so I just wanted to see what I would look like with a lot more definition. My arms aren't exactly scrawny for my build, I know they look it by ...

Thats a good point about bodyfat levels, it's not the overall size i was concerned about, it was just how far off my arms were compared to other parts. I've got quite a lean build anyway being asian. I can understand my arms being off that figure because I carry basically no bodyfat on them, I can p...

Sorry if i didn't make it clear.. The first set of measurements are what i got from the 'male girth calculator' on this site. It's based on wrist size and estimates bassically what size to aim for for each muscle for a certain body type. The second set is my own measurements from 2 months ago, nothi...

Proportion using the male girth calculator

Hello everybody, I've been reading thorugh this site for probably 2 years now and only now I feel I need to ask a question. I've been weight training on and off since I was 14 (20 now). The first few years were consistent, then i had a couple of years on and off and the last year has been consistent...
