So much conflicting info from all sources :( I was doing multiple exercises on one - I'll paste my list. I'm not going to be proud and lessen my experience, when I do my legs wednesday with the below I do them until my legs are trembling in the showers and I hold the bannister going back up/down sta...

"If you're doing all of them each of three days, you're probably working too hard." That part has me confused - I do both Arms and chest on Monday, I don't do arms one week and chest the next. As listed but with + now :) , arms+chest mon, legs+abs weds, back+shoulder fri - but your saying thats too ...

"there may be overlap from one workout to the next that will upset your recovery" yea that was my main fear, my arms tend to bear the brunt of most exercises especially while I sort my form out - and I guess you guys are right- I could use the fitness from a few months experience to cope with the st...

5 times a week for a newbie?

Good afternoon, I have been lifting stupidly for about 5 weeks but joined the work gym for the last three (today is the start of the 4th week) so if you count the shambles that was 5 weeks of throwing a barbell around with no form, 2 months. My work friends have been going to the gym for around thre...

Bumping instead of new topic - What I still could do with knowing is - as someone who is 16 stone and has a visably fat body (not bad tbh, but its sort of messy looking) - would loosing weight mean less strength gains? I would rather keep the unsightly fat for a while if it means it is better for st...

As an average Joe; this sentence just makes my jaw drop - "Exercise has another effect: it can stimulate hunger. That causes us to eat more" ??? I mean I have to be careful as someone who isn't a dietician or personal trainer - I don't like people saying "duh its obvious" when they have no expertise...

I considered before I said I smoke if I should reveal this - but if I intend to be active here I can't be bothered with the effort of dropping hints or psuedonyms . I smoke pot. If you want me to fully outline why i believe I do it, I am more than happy to write a page worth, I'm sure it would benne...

Ok thanks guys - I just had it in my head that because I smoke (like 1 or 2 a day, dont smoke mon/tue/wed, I'm sure most get my drift) I thought in order to help my lung capacity and general breathing that I would need cardio too - which would help my general ability to work my muscles - I understan...

(Newbie) Retain weight when starting out?

Hello guys - I will try to keep the intro short and get to the point but... Usual newbie disclaimer, I have searched and had a brief look at linked articles but am still undecided on this point/question. Apologies if this is staring me in the face somewhere but I may have overlooked it. I am 6'4" (1...
