Re: Final thoughts on intermediate program

However, I think that what I'm really being told here is, "It's not that important, you're better off doing the program as written so you can compare results to others, and as for the logical contradiction, who cares?" That's kind of the conclusion I've come to anyway. I see programmed rest/recover...

Re: Random crap

Yet again the gym - or more specifically, very heavy compounds (deadlift triples), obliterate my stress/irritability from a bad day in the office. It's so good being able to get rid of it in a good session. Feel much better now. Doesn't even have to be intense, just heavy/compound. (p.s. thanks for ...

Re: Random crap

Our friend has injured his knee and we are teasing him a bit (don't worry, we are dicks, but not arseholes - he can take the insults ;) ) We were just wondering what the absolute worst exercise to do would be for a bad knee - we thought star jumps because of the unnatural landing/impact (stress on t...

Re: Random crap

hehe, the temptation was obviously just to give it to the hottest girl applicant but I resisted (her English wasn't very good, how am I suppose to use my charms if she can't understand them?). Also, I don't think my girlfriend would've been too happy lol totally forbidden then - I haven't had a tru...

Re: Random crap

I'll try and random it back up a bit. So my flatmate has decided she's moving out (2 hour commute every morning is killing her), thing is I really like my flat, so I decided I'd advertise on Gumtree (kinda like Craigslist for the UK) to get someone to move in, instead of just moving somewhere else....

Re: Fat loss priorities

No milk would be .... it would ruin my life :) Any time I don't want to chew through cheese, have too much omega 6 to be eating hands full of roasted nuts, have already eaten lean meat 2 hours ago/will be eating an hour/2 later... I go to milk. Bed time? milk - 10am shake? a ton of milk - 12pm and g...

Re: What defines a bad workout day

Power cleans are a good indicator of my overall "perky-ness" that week - some days I feel like an alpha male, grab the bar with an angry smirk and throw up a heavy weight at high speed, others, i'll spend a worrying amount of time (2 mins maybe) just holding the bar gripping it telling myself "grip ...

Re: Reducing blood pressure (especially those who have)

I've trained squats/deads at 1/3/5 RM for a long time so I can't really add that - Can't say I sprint much but I have been hitting the hills on my bike - I'll get the miles in initially (I need them for my trip anyway) but add some sprinting in there too - maybe attack the hills like a nutter :) You...

Reducing blood pressure (especially those who have)

Hi all, I am on the upper end of blood pressure at age 27 - its not enough to medicate, but its a consistent 128>132 over a more reasonable 69>73. I have been training aprox 18 months on decent routines and my diet has varied between above average to pretty solid. At the moment as I am aiming for sp...

Re: SL progress

but I am using the push press so I don't have to decrease weight. Row is at 60# but I may be at an the end with this one. I don't understand this part, do you mean you warmup with a push press then use a normal press for work sets? - you shouldn't really involve your legs in order to progress in an...

Re: Random crap

RobertB, my wife is a Beauty Therapist and lives for this $hit: She tells me that all a person needs to do to clear most cases of acne is purchase a facial cleanser and exfoliate/moisturise. Typically, the acne is a simple case of blocked pores. Obviously, this doesnt solve 100% of all peoples issu...

Re: Random crap

:angryfire: Pfft got a pretty bad breakout of pimples this week - went through a phase of having none for a long time, but they creeping back. I've been eating a fair amount more crap and carbs getting bigger for 5/3/1 and these last two weeks have been very hard work (GVT and cycling as soon as my ...
