Would the mg dosage of ibuprofen change with a lower body weight (113 lbs). I usually take smaller doses of other OTC meds and seem to get good results.

Check out the sticky we put up on DB/KB complexes for ideas and an explanation of what they are. Javorek's DBI targets what most people neglect in favor of bodybuiling moves; i.e. the posterior chain in particular along with the upper back/shoulder girdle .... get the ticker going, and get those mu...

Impact is one of the best things for bone health, which is potentially one of the training issues for a woman entering her 6th decade. How is impact beneficial to bone health? How does it do this... what is the physiology behind the concept? For me the more I understand something the better I am ab...

I'm not sure I'd consider jump training conditioning. It's a very intensive exercise if you are jumping up high (higher box jumps), jumping long (broad jump), or plyometrically (depth jumps - drop down, jump back up). Yoga would be fine, but I'd avoid a big volume of jumps as conditioning. They'll ...

I really like the idea of 2 days weight training and 2 days of conditioning!!! I ALWAYS have 2 days off and two days of going to work at noon. So simple!!! Would doing jump training on one of the non weight days and yoga on the other be a good choice? Then maybe a 10 minute stretch routine on the wo...

in my mind is to not break routine, and making sure training remains a habit This is huge for me. Once something becomes routine, it is much easier to continue. My very early mornings at work are what tend to kick my butt the most. For some reason, knowing I have to wake up early keeps me wide awak...

To begin with, my goals are to improve muscularly and skeletaly. To improve my health, by asking my body to do what it is supposed to do... be active and strong, into my golden years. With some degree of variation, it seems like I am sticking most closely with the "Starting Strength" program. But......

Scheduling workouts
My work schedule is very inconsistent and it is making it challenging to establish regular workout days and times. Mornings work best for me. If I work out too late it interrupts my sleep, in addition to the fact that my family is home and my workout room/living room is being occupied by others late...

Thank you so much for all the responses. And yes, a year is a long time to lurk. I had posted in a couple exercise forums and the replies felt a bit aggressive, so I guess I shied away from posting anywhere. Although I am aware of the upcoming possibility of osteoporosis, I haven't really given it m...

Newbies First Post- Lots of Questions
Hello. I am a soon to be 50 year old woman, who has been lurking on this site for well over a year. I have noticed that there seems to be a lot of sensible, considerate advise from those of you here. So... I will be 50 in March. I am about 5'3-5'4 and 112 lbs, with an extremely small frame. A couple...
