Thanks Stuward.
I wrote that post in the off chance that people who suffered the same injuries would read it and chip in.
Cheers

Need advice on exercise selection following injuries
Hi all, I have two main injuries, I almost torn a tendon in my should that happened five years ago. It never fully healed but now, thanks to my doctor who was a shoulder specialist before moving on to general practice, I have a new set of exercises to try and correct it. The tendon is the one linkin...

So I put 150 lbs resistance, got on the machine...

Flexible flatfeet and expensive orthosis
Hi all, This week I met with a physician and he diagnosed me with flexible flatfeet. I found this page and the symptoms are spot on http://www.foothealthfacts.org/footankleinfo/flatfoot.htm I can't walk for more than 15 minutes before I need to rest and I've been prone to shin splints since forever....

Re: Resumning workout after injury...
@Stuward I don't do squats anyway, I do have one though but it is on a Smith so it is self assisted. Even then it appears in my routine twice and I have 6 routines that I rotate every 4-5 weeks. Indeed shadowboxing is part of the boxing class, without weight. I am not sure if I follow you on this, h...

Resumning workout after injury...
Hi all, Ok so last Thursday I suffered a tendinitis of the rotators cuff in my left shoulder (which mean my good arm). I have no idea how it happened. I've been working out for the last two years now without any serious injury. I always stretch and ramp up routine. I've also added boxing class about...

Re: Damn shin splints
Sorry for the late reply, swamped with work! JungleDoc : I know it is a bit long for since I don't want to aggravate the splint shins I don't go all out at once but rather a slow 5-10 minutes build-up. In any case big thanks for suggesting Tabatas, I didn't even know these things existed before I re...

Damn shin splints
Hi all, Well whatever I do I can seem to get rid of this annoying affliction. I have no idea how they started, I am always very careful and apply myself to stretching and start things slowly every time I workout. First I started with a mix of over the counter pain reliever and massages, that didn't ...

Stephen: -Shin splints seems to be my issue, the wiki page you provided offers sound method of treatment that I will follow. -My running shoes are fine I guess, I only use them for training so even though they are a year old the have "broken" but are very comfortable. -I believe I don't...

Need help/tips about running
Hi all, Well first off, I HATE running. I mean I use to hate it with a passion. I've been steadily training for a year now and I am progressing beyond my expectations. Thing is though is that the more I train the more I feel like I need to raise the body heat prior to lifting, otherwise I'll always ...

Cramps when I run on treadmill
Hi all, About a month and a half ago I woke up thinking to myself that I should run before I workout. Well, being one who tries to follow his intuition I went along with it and so I've been running ever since and I love it. I am losing my bad fat at a steady pace and it makes for an amazing warmup b...

Hi Stuward, Thought so too but still I was curious about what folks on this board would have to say. Once, way back, I hurt myself because I didn't stretch so I learned my lesson and incorporated stretching before each training session ever since I started again last year. Still, leg and hip wise, i...
