Re: You are going to die

I worry about what I eat because there is a direct relationship between my bodyfat percentage, my self confidence, and how often I get laid.

Just sayin'. ;)

Nope, that's perfect.

I was just curious what your views on things were, because I wasn't able to really get a solid idea of what you were thinking from your shorter posts.

I just kind of like to know what everyone's opinions are on certain things :P

So Ironman, I'd like to know your actual stance on carbohydrates and on fat and their more specific sub categories.

Re: Help on Suppliments

Thanks doc... I'll consider that... but how about creatine? I see it everywhere and there's a ton of them in the market and for an average guy like me trying to be fit. It is very hard to decide what to get, not to mention if I'm getting my money's worth. I'll tell you from experience and from the ...

Re: Is training three times a week...

They say it takes 3-5 minutes to for ATP to reach something like 90% of baseline. If I take a min 3 mins between each set and do 5 sets of 8 for 4-5 exercises like I normally do, that's ~20-25 sets with 60+ minutes of rest alone. You're not going to get big doing low volume naturally, either. Volume...

Re: Collection of Clinical Trials

This thread topic is focused on Clinical Trials. That's a review of a clinical trial, probably more informative than just giving one for self interpretation. :p Well in all fairness, you edited that link in after I posted my reply. Also people should be able to self interpret the evidence and come ...

Re: Collection of Clinical Trials

There's no benefit to fat beyond the basic hormonal needs. That's one of the biggest problems I have with the 'low carbers'. You don't need excessive fat, 60-100g a day is plenty (540-900 calories) These whole 70%fat 25%protein 5% carb type diets are horrific. Fat should never make up that much of y...

Re: Is training three times a week...

and Nightfall, is that going to be under an hour, or do BB throw that rule away? srs The hour rule is a joke, I spend upwards of 90-120 minutes in the gym 5-6x/wk. The reason the 'hour rule' myth came to be is because people believed that elevated cortisol = muscle protein breakdown, but during wei...

Re: Is training three times a week...

The only difference between bodybuilding routines and strength training routines is typically the isolation. Stronglift + isolation = bodybuilding routine, for instance: StrongLifts 5x5 Workout A StrongLifts 5x5 Workout B Squat 5x5 Squat 5x5 Bench Press 5x5 Overhead Press 5x5 Barbell Rows 5x5 Deadli...

Ironman I think you have way too closed of a mind on the whole carb/insulin thing.

Re: Is training three times a week...

Too many people try to make strength training routines in to bodybuilding routines.

Lyle McDonald's Generic Bulking Routine

Brian Haycock - Hypertrophy Specific Training

There's two - probably all you'll need for the next cpl years.

Re: Testosterone Article

Easy way to figure out actual natural potential: Take 'natural' world records: Drop the weight 15% Actual natural max weight. Obviously, this is a joke - somewhat. But pretty much every world record set in any 'natural' competition isn't actual natural - this goes for all sports, powerlifting, runni...

Re: Testosterone Article

I would imagine someone taking testosterone and not exercising would soon reach a plateau. From there, they would have to increase the dosage, add other performance enhancers or start working out to keep making gains. I'm sure they'd reach a plateau, I simply think the study shows how significant o...
