Re: General question about GVT

So, after much anticipation I was finally able to view the video last night. I wasn't disappointed in the least. It sure lived up to the hype you guys have been giving it LOL. On a side note, the excercise is slightly different than what I could accomplish on the board at the gym I attend. ...

Re: General question about GVT

Thanks Robert for the reply. Like I said, I only have a basic understanding of the routine, hence my post here to gain some knowledge and/or advice. Not really trying to reinvent the wheel  . I've never been able to find the "actual" workout in all of my searches. I've found plenty of synopsi...

Re: General question about GVT

http://www.charlespoliquin.com/ArticlesMultimedia/Articles/Article/441/German_Volume_Training.aspx I only change two things - 1: instead of dips I do over head press, cos I like overhead press and I'm a pussy for dips, shouldn't really swap it out but it clashes too much with my chest work (specifi...

General question about GVT

Good day all, I recently got back in the gym from a couple months break (life seems to get in the way sometimes...). I decided to hit the ground running so to speak and jumed right in to a GVT routine. I only have a basic understanding of the routine so I would like you all to critique my program if...

Re: Things you like and hate about your gym

Nick, It sounds like we attend very similar gyms! Unfortunately though I don't have a lot of other options..... The alarm thing; the gym I go to has an emergency siren that sounds and two orange/yellow rotating lights that go off. What a joke. Get this - They recently changed name from Gold's Gym to...

Re: Random crap

I have a bunch of random little things that motivate me. My most recent stint was motivated by, well, my weight. I went on a weekend trip with my old baseball team, as we do every summer, and this time we visited some coal mine tour. In the souvenir shop, there was this gimmick of a scale that can ...

Re: My local gym is......

Except Golds.....and World gym..... But...... the gym I'm refering to IS a Gold's Gym. I'm starting to believe that they have a new franchise option - "Gold's Health Club". I just returned from a 7 day cruise in the Caribbean and the on ship gym was not too dissimilar from the Gold's Gym I am a mem...

Re: Question on GVT

Hi Danomite,

I have been doing stiff legged deadlifts after squats. Between the two I do a round of calf raises for 4x15. This helps me recover a bit between the two major lifts. It is brutally hard but I guess that's what I like about it!

Good luck,
Travis

Ya this site is getting more members every week it seems. I don't know though I kinda like it being a small knit community. I hear ya! I've reading this board for a couple of years off and on. It seems like everyone here are truly friends; despite some of the differences I may have seen along the w...

I'm just going to throw one out there...

Korn - They basically defined the nu-metal genre. Just started listening to them again and I'm wondering why I gave up on them.

I have an iphone with a limited texting plan from AT&T. Why pay for what someone else is offering FOC? What I did is sign up for google voice. As mentioned above it assigns you an outgoing and incoming phone number. You can send and receive unlimited SMS texts from your computer (or in my case my ip...

Essentially a chair that has bar supports similar to a bench (flat, incline, decline) in front and behind so that you have somewhere to put the bar between sets. I can do a similar exercise with dumbells which obviously don't require any type of bar support but, sometimes you just want to use a bar....
