Re: Restructuring approach to chest

My initial plan was to round all my calculations up to multiples of 5... 5 being the combined total of two of the lowest weights (2.5kg). Incidentally, if anyone uses an Excel spreadsheet to calculate their lift % for 531 you can use the following fomula to round to the nearest "possible weight comb...

Re: Restructuring approach to chest

Thanks Kpj, thats great I'm gonna run a 531 routine on my bench and see how it goes - quick question though: My gym's weights only go up in 2.5 kg units - obviously with 531's program stating you should increase by 5 pounds on upper body lifts which is roughly 2.5kg I have a balancing issue! Either ...

Re: Restructuring approach to chest

It's probably just down to the change over from DB to BB but I felt a great connection from my chest on monday... I'm extremely keen to work on my bench now that my shoulders seem to be giving me the all clear!

Re: Restructuring approach to chest

Kpj (Spelt correctly this time :blackeye: ): I managed to knock out a solid bench without any pain a couple of weeks ago... tried today and, again, fine. Do you think it wise for me to utterly drop inclines, or chuck some in for a "pumper" towards the end? I want to push for size gains but my should...

Restructuring approach to chest

Hey I've been having troubles with my shoulders which I've largely corrected thanks to Kpj's advice to double up my back work. Anyway, off the back of that, I've decided that I want to restructure/re-approach my "chest" workout. My goals are hypertrophy and strength My ideas are to change my focus f...

Re: Random crap

RobertB, my wife is a Beauty Therapist and lives for this $hit: She tells me that all a person needs to do to clear most cases of acne is purchase a facial cleanser and exfoliate/moisturise. Typically, the acne is a simple case of blocked pores. Obviously, this doesnt solve 100% of all peoples issue...

Re: Need Beginning Gym Program For sport Cricket

To me, with cricket, you have two major goals to aim for: Increase batting skill Increase running skill Obviosuly, with the points from cricket being based on runs - being able to explode off the wicket safely and quickly is going to give you a great advantage. I may be utterly wrong but it makes pe...

Re: Doing it Wrong

Regarding lifting, I have one or two friends who listen to me prattle on, a couple that want to pull everything I say apart and a few more who want to discuss it. I have noticed lately that the ones who want to pull it apart seem to do so less and are either falling into the listening category or ev...

@ Carlito

I bought mine from MyProtien.co.uk - it comes in a pouch and should be portioned with a scoop. I mix mine with my protein powder every morning. A fraction of the cost of the tablets on Amazon!

Re: Whey Protein Concentrate vs isolate

How logical! I had a chat with the guy at the gym I attend and he went through his protein sales pitch: all he could say is how bad Concentrate was compared to Isolate but couldnt explain why. I kind of decided there and then that the answer was "negligible" but thought I'd run it past the council f...
