I can appreciate needing to update everything, at very least you have to keep upgraded to avoid security vulnerabilities.
Overall this new "skin" looks close enough to the old to be comfortable, with enough newness to give it a fresh feel.
Well done!

Personal best bench
Today I hit 1.25x body weight on bench, or 200#, about half-way from my first goal, body weight, to my next goal, 1.5x body weight.

Is there anything to the so-called "Mind-muscle connect
Back when I first started, before I settled on exrx.net, I read somewhere about the "mind-muscle connection", which I then pretty much forgot about it. The idea is that you are supposed to consciously concentrate on flexing/activating target muscles during a lift. This came to mind today when I did ...

The accidental max
I decided to hold off on maxing out until I could digest the info in this thread. Here is what happened to best laid plans of mice and men. Today I was ready to increase the weights by 5, which happens to put my top set at 3 x 180, where 180 is my previous 1RM. So I did those 3 x 180 smooth and clea...

a good warmup type progression is a very individual thing, and something you'll just have to work out for yourself. For example before lifting weights I do a few mobility drills and some resistance band work, then just jump right in. It's just something you'll eventually get into as you get more ex...

One of the nice things about 5/3/1 is that once you start gaining, it gives you a new PR, if not a real max, every cycle, without the hammering of a real max. That gives you the satisfaction of proving that you're making progress without knocking you out for a week or two. Doc, thanks for the detai...

If I can add a follow-up, I've been wondering if it is necessary to try to work out imbalances. I am stronger on my left side than my right, and this seems to be from head to toe. I've been wondering, if I just stick with the big 6 compounds, will this just "work itself out", or will it persist. I'v...

and what isn't real food? Almost everything in the middle lanes of a grocery store. Seriously, any processed food, anything with soy in it, anything containing anything you don't recognize as growing in the dirt, swimming, flying or walking. ...or anything that used to grow, swim, fly or walk, but ...

The Basics
My main goal in nutrition is to understand enough of the basics to be able to figure things out on my own and not constantly have to ask, "is this food ok? How about this one?" and so on. This is kind of hard because of conflicting camps, lobbyists vs. scientists, sports vs. non-sports, men vs. wome...

A few questions about maxing out
When I started out my friend and I would max out about once/month, until we realized this was bad because A) it was ego and B) it wasted a workout day. So I have not maxed on anything in 3 months, and now I would like to check my progress, so I have a few questions. My basic understanding is that yo...

Re: Let's estimate this guy's lifespan.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BunvrI9Q9PA This video really takes the cake. He is standing on a wet sheet of plywood on a slanted driveway in front of his garage. When he cleans the weight you think something disastrous is about to happen. The front squats that follow are priceless. He flounders a...

Re: Stiff Neck?
Basically, six weeks ago I began to have a permanent low grade soreness in my neck, right side. Doesn't get worse, doesn't get better, does not restrict motion, does not prevent any exercises, like DOMS that does not go away.. Is the neck soreness worse when you wake up, or are you aware of it whil...

When to stop a set: deadlift, row, squat, press
It seems to me some exercises are easy for even a beginner to judge when to stop a set: when you can't do anymore (or just before). This applies to bench, pullups, curls, triceps pushups, and I'm sure many other. But for others, I'm not so sure. Particularly deadlift, row, squat and press. Assuming ...
