Re: Knee Crepitus and Squatting

I'm not sure whether this helps you considering it's so anecdotal, but I get the grinding/cracking sound whenever I bend at the knee. I've had it since I was a kid. I don't get any pain from it. All that I can remember is leg extensions causing me some problems as a beginner. I've done plenty of squ...

I came across this video of Pyrros Dimas training the other day, thought you guys might think its interesting:

Be sure to take it with food, or it won't work.

One more relevant video for you - Brett Contreras giving some info about DL vs squat back angles thing, along with some demonstrations, pulled from my bookmarks: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xDmWMrKT7U4" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; I have no idea about the 105kg for your weight t...

Re: Bench press help

So you are having trouble with the bottom part of the movement, i.e. moving from your chest? Here is an article by Dave Tate about that problem. Dave says that he disagrees with the common notion that it is due to a weak chest. Fair enough, he knows a lot more about it than me. I have always had the...

Re: Clint's garage gym

You'll have a great time with that setup. I think I've said before that I have some worries about the lat thing. The low pulley on mine keeps shaving bits of plastic coating from the cable, which I'm sure is going to screw things up eventually, and it just seems to be a consequence of how they desig...

Re: Where you been, where you are, where you going, ....

I remember when ... ... I did DB exercises on the living room rug, and skipped shoulders and legs most weeks, because it was boring and lunges made me run out of breath ... I was excited when ... ... I managed to bench 220 at 165 (honestly, what is with the strange allure of chest exercises). One da...

Re: GHR

This bloke seems to get the full range of motion on the 'normal' machine without the knee pads though: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ne_pPfxb-_8" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; I've been wondering about that, actually. Quite a few people (e.g. Brett Contreras) don't get to 90 degrees...

Re: Squats and technique

I was watching the "So You Think You Can Squat?" series of videos again recently: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EkF9QD7oCIA" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; They take someone, have him squat and give him some tips on technique. Right at the end of the videos, he tries to do a GHR on t...

Re: Not training to failure

For what it's worth, I would agree that it probably has more to do with accumulating fatigue (from whatever) and nutritional requirements. I get the impression that these authors are suggesting that consistent training to failure can reduce performance and hamper gains, not so much that it will caus...

Re: Power Rack

I have a re-branded version of that Powerline cage as well. The paint does scratch off, especially from the pins. It's more compact than some of the other brands, but it has enough room generally. There are two things to think about. First, mine isn't deep enough to get a big incline/decline bench i...
