Re: Culver City Westside Secrets book

Yea, and this sort of thing should be kept to a minimum too. This isn't an article, so it doesn't really go in that section. I think the book section is a good place though. I don't think I would allow this, if you weren't the author of the book, and an active member. I can't wait to write my first...

Re: Designing grip work "accessory"

There are lots of approaches to grip strength. I feel direct forearm work has its place, but I like doing regular lifts with something that challenges the grip,, like using a fat bar, wrapping a towel over the bar, doing deadlifts with overhand grip instead of hooked, etc. I am working on a deadlift...

Re: Rest periods for lifts like curls, when strength is goal

Sorry Ken. I just re-read your original post and I was really confused. It doesn't make a huge difference, but to maximize your strength gains for the main lifts, rest 3-5 minutes between sets. For aux stuff, it doesn't matter much - 45 seconds, 90 seconds, 2 minutes. For curls, it doesn't matter a...

Re: pain and swelling in.....

I don't know much, but I'll see what I can say. I believe this pain and tightness is a direct result of me listening to the wonderful advice on not collapsing my knees inward on the upward motion of my squat. I'm not being sarcastic here not at all. I think there is a connection. Practically when y...

Re: pain and swelling in.....

Not really sure what went on, if it's bad pain, good pain, or whatever but, this is pretty much what you're asking for http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=of6OYuyYCxE" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Also, get a pipe or foam roller in there. It's glorious. KPj EDIT: Should add - squeeze th...

Re: Had a Health Screening today

In order to get a discount of Health Ind Premiums, I had a screening, which included a pin prick for blood tests, and a scale with some electronic foot pads for fat meaurement. So, we probably have some variance here. Well, here are the results. BP: 128/78, it was 120/90 earlier in yr Total Cholest...

pain and swelling in.....

both my left and my right tensor fascia latae or satorius. I attempted to squat yesterday and planned on going light and deep while keeping form. I had only 225 on the bar and i went down and I felt restriction in my hips or what feels like my upper quads or hip flexors. As I got about 90 degrees I ...

Re: BP spotting tips

Add on to KPjs post. I was just finishing up my warm up sets with 305. I was using a false grip as well. I was about half way through my set, feeling very strong. Went up a little too fast, at the top the bar sort of "popped" (due to excess force used) and rolled right off my hands. 305 landing on ...

Those are some legit ass dip bars. I custom made some dip bars when I lived in florida out of cinderblocks and wooden fence posts. Yours looks a lot more professional did you weld those pieces together? awesome.

Re: Why what and when for 1rep max

Awesome thanks for all the replies guys.

So it's pretty much pointless for me to do one rep max at all unless i feel like bragging about how much stronger I am then other people.

I am constantly getting stronger bigger etc and well I guess thats normal.

Once again thanks guys.
