Thanks for the replys. I'm quite clear on the shoulder thing, for now anyway. However, the bench press thing has taken me by surprise. I had no idea that there was another way to bench. As I said, i've always just done it the 'bodybuilder way'. But then again, it may make sense as I have been at a s...

thanks for reply, exactly the info I was looking for. Another thing, during my research i have came across this article, http://www.t-nation.com/readTopic.do?id=1053531 Scroll down a little to the bench pressing part. When Carl started with us, he was benching like a bodybuilder and — not surprising...

Hi, thanks for the response. I should have mentioned, I follow a 'typical' bodybuilding routine. As far as I know and have seen, doing bench press and dumbell bench press in the same workout is quite common.... Anyway, that's not what my routine is, it's an example. If i were to do these exercises, ...

Shoulders - Injury Prevention

Hi Recently I have been reading some articles on Shoulders. This is really due to a fear of injury/paranoia. A shoulder injury is something I definitly want to avoid. Obviously it is quite a complicated part of the body, or so I have came to realise. At this stage, I seem to have more questions than...

If you live in the states, go to a golds gym and buy their make of protein. The double chocolate one has surprising low fat and carbs. It tasted like Chocolate Milk (even when mixed with water). I'm from the UK and was in Florida on Holiday. We went to a Golds Gym and bought the protein there, I usu...

I have heard that this exercise targets your upper abs, http://www.exrx.net/WeightExercises/RectusAbdominis/CBKneelingCrunch.html You can certainly 'feel' it in your upper abs, however, what you 'feel' seems to be a controversial subject ;-) I you have been doing crunches etc for a while now, it is ...

Hi I have a question that i've always wanted to ask... but forgot about it... I don't understand supersetting opposing muscle groups. If, for example, i did bicep curls with tricep push downs (any tri push down), what benefit would there be in comparison to just perfoming bicep curls followed by tri...

Shoulders & Range Of Motion

Hi Alot of people who train in my gym use a restricted range fo motion when training - in comparison to the way the exercises are performed on this site. Mostly on shoulder exercises. For example, the Dumbbell Shoulder press. Most people I see doing this (and also the way I have been told) will lowe...

About 2 weeks ago, I saw a personal trainer with a client, they were doing bent over rows with a very rounded back, and jerking the weight. Another client was doing squats (same personal trainer) and their knees were going beyond their toes... Also, every time I see a Personal Trainer give their cli...

I can't comment too much on the technical details, but as someone who has a high protein intake, I disagree. Mainly because I know people of all ages with high protein intake e.g train/trained in a similar way to myself - bodybuilding. Never known anyone to have any problems and infact, the older gu...

I really like arm wrestling and since i started training, I have been keen to do it (every now and again, with friends etc). However, I saw a video(which was sick!) and also know of someone who has seriously injured themselves doing it - i dont know if they broke there arm or whatever, but the 'snap...

typical training 'week' - 7days.... 10days?

Was wondering if anyone had any info regarding the typical training week. I remember seeing reference to a 10 day 'week' in a previous thread but can't find it. Im specifically refering to a bodybuilding style of routine, and for my sake - training each muscle once per week. I think someone (on this...

well, I'm not an expert on nutrition. But I weigh 150-155pounds and it is not uncommon for me to have 5 eggs for breakfast.... or lunch - any meal really... I could easily believe that a guy of Arnies size could eat 8 eggs... My reasoning is that although the average size egg supposedly has around 7...

Arnie, first in his films then his actual body building, Sly, Ultimate Warrior, Hulk Hogan, Bruce Lee, Van Damme.... Any kind of 'action hero' u can think of from around my era - im 21 years old. Mostly, I just wanted to be strong. I have quite a small frame and also quite short so it annoyed me whe...
