Re: Creatine FAQ

I tend to be very skeptical of most supplements but the evidence for creatine seems to be pretty good (particularly for use by vegetarians http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/14600563" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; ) so i'm giving it a shot. 2.5g 1/d. I was wary of the loading phase a...

Re: Am I the only one?

I think it's a shame that you can't relate positively to someone who is ahead of you. Sure, use them for motivation. But I fear that you don't have a real healthy basis for your own self-esteem if you have to be bigger and more cut than everyone in the world in order to be happy about yourself. You...

Re: The reasons why you should do a cool down

When i first started running in my teens i would often feel a bit dizzy and woozy for a couple of minutes after a long jog. Not so severe that i thought i would pass out, but just the "head rush" similar to what one might feel when standing quickly after prolonged sitting. I mentioned it to a friend...

Re: What's up with rear delts?

Incidentally, i have a question that probably doesn't deserve its own thread so perhaps this is a good place to ask it: Why aren't these more popular? http://www.exrx.net/WeightExercises/DeltoidLateral/DBRaises.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Do they have another name? I can find...

Re: Milk - for non babies

I like you, new person. Thanks, doc. I hope my good-natured ribbing doesn't provoke any hurt feelings but although i'm something of a hippie myself, the alternative medicine stuff tends to get on my nerves. I'm an EMT and i always wonder if Joseph Mercola or Andrew Weil would diagnose a cyanotic pa...

Re: B-Complex (Neurobion)

There are people who lack an enzyme that is necessary for B-12 absorption. That's the main thing that the shots have been used for over the years, but there's an oral product now that includes the enzyme. Out of curiosity, does the oral product you're referring to contain intrinsic factor or Methyl...

Re: Designing grip work "accessory"

Hi all, I've got a new thing to over-analyze ! I bet you can't wait to hear about it  I would like to develop my grip work to a decent level, as well as being stronger than average I would like a grip which could be considered the same. I have never had a manual job (bar some very basic stuff...

Re: Milk - for non babies

I think consumers ought to have the freedom to contract E. coli and Listeria so that they can obtain some nebulous health benefits for which there is no evidence. I also think seatbelts cause cancer. I have no evidence to support that claim.

Re: chest dips form

Just my .02 here. I do dips pretty regularly, so I know the possible pitfalls about what I'm going to tell you. Form looks pretty good, but you're going pretty shallow, which may be why the chest isn't getting a full impact. You've got to be pretty careful though when trying to add depth. Lower dow...

Re: What's up with rear delts?

Indeed, those are the two i meant. Thanks. The reason i asked, by the way, is i've been doing my rows on the edge of my bed and if i use a pronated grip then the dumbbell hits the bed frame! Edit: By the way, in response to the OP's question, the reason why i personally am doing rear delt rows in ad...

Re: What's up with rear delts?

I'm glad someone made a thread about rear delts because i was wondering about them. In the illustration for the dumbbell rear delt row on the main site (i'd post a link but it seems i'm not authorized to do so), the hand positioning appears to be different than the hand positioning for normal dumbbe...
