Re: Psoas muscle?

Do the test mentioned and see how you do. BTW, this is very related to the "hurdle step" in Athletic Body in Balance. Somebody stole my copy of Athletic Body in Balance at my gym :angryfire: The psoas is a bit of a sticky wicket when it comes to pain free movement. The hip flexors are a commonly ti...

You'll look leaner by comparison.
Then borrow her shoulder pads.
Fat chicks don't need those.
I'm sending chocolates to her work as we speak!

Re: Statins and Exercise.

I'm skeptical of statins, and of the lipid hypothesis in general, but I'm not a doctor so I keep my mouth shut.

Re: TimD

My birth name isn't Jason Robert Jones, it was something different and I was named after my father. I took the name after my alcoholic, abusive father got arrested for something like the 11th time. I renamed myself (legally) after my maternal grandfather... who finally succumbed to cancer a few year...

How to post a program and get GOOD feedback--serious version

We see a lot of people posting programs for feedback, without clarifying what they hope to achieve with their exercise routines. I thought I'd see if we could come up with a consensus on how to post a program and get great feedback, instead of a host of questions and disagreements, sarcasm from Osca...

Re: Squat - Shins have to be perpenticular?

1. Yes I can. Except for my right knee hurts when I do it, though I can make the pain go away if I manipulate how the foot steps up. This was a rhetorical question too, so I'm pretty sceptical, (or you're a civil servant in the ministry of silly walks.) At any rate, I was trying to make a clever po...

Re: Squat - Shins have to be perpenticular?

Your physiotherapists advice is horrid -- and frighteningly typical -- and should be soundly ignored and filed in the circular bin where it belongs. As far as squats and PFS, rather than talk about the mechanical forces at play here, I'm going to ask you two simple questions that should demonstrate ...

Re: 5/3/1 and questions

Why not just do one of the accessory programs Wendler outlines in the 531 manual? This programming is suffering from a huge amount of overreach, which I think is a really common problem people of our knowledge level suffer from. 531 is a framework for strength: pick one other goal that you want to w...
