Re: Feedback on full-body workouts
Honestly, I would drop all this P90x stuff you've been doing. You need to go to back to the basic barbell lifts. I recommend doing some research on gyms in your area and joining one. It doesn't need to be fancy; just look for an inexpensive gym with at least one or two squat racks/power racks, dumbe...

Re: Ultimate Long-Term Weightlifting Plan
Good ideas. It seems as though step 2 should be approached as a gradual "learning phase" in order to adapt the child to training. Beginning around age 7 featuring bodyweight exercises performed recreationally or for punishment, and gradually evolving into performing basic compound movements performed...

Re: Ultimate Long-Term Weightlifting Plan
Also, the starting strength routines really aren't that geared towards repeating after graduating to the heavier weights. Doing squats three times a week plus DL'S sometimes twice a week with heavy weights is a recipe for wearing a body down. Steps 3-5 were meant to be performed for a relatively sh...

What age would you recommend beginning steps 2 and 3 at then?jlmoss wrote:No strength training until puberty is finished has sort of fallen by the wayside these days... Most now support supervised and careful weight training as early as 7 years old.

Ultimate Long-Term Weightlifting Plan
Many lifters begin working out as teenagers, aimlessly walking into the gym and performing the latest "bro split" workout. These "workouts" usually feature a colossal number of sets of isolation/machine movements that target the biceps, chest, abs "grueling" 2 hour long workouts that are performed a...

Re: Help with something
I recommend buying an iron gym pullup bar. It's pretty cheap and practically required for a decent home workout.

I agree with what you said, but I think it's better than most of those "bro splits" out there, such as "six weeks to sick arms" from BB.com...http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/6-weeks-to-sick-arms.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; At one point, you're basically training biceps/trice...

Re: So I came up with an interesting routine
@Jclem23: What do you think of your current routine? Are you getting results? Are you bored or engaged by it? I'm just curious. I like my current routine alot. I've already seen some small increases in mass since I started it about 3 weeks ago. I posted it in a previous thread that I'm pretty sure ...

Will do. I'm gonna stick with my current routine for another 6-8 weeks, and then I'll switch to this.Stephen Johnson wrote:@Jclem23"

So I came up with an interesting routine
So I stumbled across the following workout template on this site: http://www.exrx.net/Workouts/Workout4PPPP.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; And this struck me as interesting. So I took the basic template and modified it heavily. And I came up with the following routine: Monday: L...
